2002 Silverado 5.3 Tranny

The transmission works like when original. The supposedly heavy duty parts have no effect on what you feel when driving. Who knows what I really got. The only thing that worries me is not being able to feel the shift between Park and Drive. I'm not sure if there is a long term negative effect. I mentioned it to the Trans Tech and he got in the truck and said it was fine. I repeated to him that when I purchased the truck NEW there was a normal natural shifting feeling from P to Drive. He said not to worry. If anyone here can give me advise or an explanation on the shifting I will appreciate it

Ask the shop who rebuilds your transmission to install a cooler and a in-line filter on one of the cooler lines, you will be amazed at the amount of junk that the in-line filter catches.

Ouch, thats a hefty markup. I rebuilt the 4L60E in my 95 Z71 for under $700 using most all of the common upgrades and a reman. convertor. This will give you an example of the cost of parts, (Retail mind you)!

I believe the correct term is a SoCal mark up. OP do you plan on doing a annual ATF pan drop and refill? Keep us posted on how your transmission is holding up.
