Working on a 2001 Belle Mini 150 cement mixer. The casing and the belle site says to use EP90 gear oil for units UP TO 2006. I went to my local parts store and couldnt find anything.. everything was multigrade.

Does anyone have any recommendations for this application? I have seen a few posts about 80/90w but not sure about GL4 vs GL5 for this unit.

EP is from GL3, but best start point medium EP is GL4. If you can not find w90 you can go with 80w90 and 85w90 GL4.

If the gear box does not contain brass or brass alloys, I do see why a GL5 would be bad. I wonder if straight 90wt gear oil would be about the same as a straight weight motor oil, like Delvac 1650 of something. .......anyway.......

are both gl4, non brass eating, but again not sure why you need gl4, unless maybe your mixer has a transmission.....with synchros.

This one is much ticker than the first two oils and also has MoS2 (molybdenum disulfide):
