2000 Mustang GT tire options

Getting another ride in the drive. It currently has Goodyear Eagles on it.
I do not have all the details on these right now. I have to dive deeper.
What are other Mustang owners choosing and why?
Car has 35000 original one-owner "sitting" miles.

Assuming it still has the 245/45/17 size, the factory tires were Goodyear on those. We don't see a lot of the older ones anymore, but it all kinda depends on what you want to do with it and how much you want to spend.

My Mustang is much newer, but I put Continental Extreme Contact DW06 Plus on it about 2k ago. I find them superior to the OEM Goodyears, particularly in the wet they are significantly better. Looking forward to seeing how they do in snow.

FWIW I have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on my 2014 and love them.

Any street tire offer better dry traction than Michelin Pilot Sport 4S ?

I need replacement tires for a 2020 Mustang.

Got 30K miles / 3 years out of the OEM Michelin tires.

Mustang use will be a combo of road trips to Lake Michigan or Huron
and the occasional steak house to refuel. Maybe a local car show.

If you want something that doesn't cost too much, get the Dunlop Conquest Sport AS

The Nokian WRG4 is also under $100 each in your size. You might also like the Nitto Motivo 365

For an extra car that sees few miles and just for leisurely drives I get mid-low cost performance oriented tires. Kumho and GT Radial have been good to me. I prefer them to be softer/ wear faster since they age out anyway

What do you prioritize most in this case? Comfort, total dry grip, treadwear?

Laugh if you wish, but look into the Cooper Cobra Instinct. Made in the USA by Goodyear and has only been out since 2024, so it'll be around for another 10 knowing Goodyear if you had to replace one 6 months later because of a flat. It beats the Michelin PSA4 in wet unless you like to repeat the "but Michelin does better in the wet when worn" and dry lap times and is more of the old type UHP AS which sucks in the snow but can be driven okay on a frozen dry road.
