1999 Vortec 5700 - Tick upon cold start up

Just an update from my old thread.

I recently changed my oil and filter as per the recomentations from the old thread.

First I changed the oil to Rotella 15W40 and kept the old filter on. It was a Fram Orange can. Tick was still there after a few seconds right after start up.

Then I changed the filter over to Fram Ultra. Started it 3 times since and no tick upon start up.

Now Temperatures have warmed so im not sure how much of an impact that made to reducing the occurance of the tick.

Probably the poor anti drain back valve on the orange can the ultra is far superior here and every other way.
