A buddy of mine who already has two "classic" Saabs is considering buying a newer 95 900SE. It is dark blue with leather interior and a 2.5 V6. The car is immaculate for the mileage which is about 150000 if I remember correctly. I'm kinda wondering if anyone here has any experience with this model which was built from 94 to 98. I'm hoping the reliabitly record of this engine is as decent as the 900 classic that preceded it. He hasn't bought the car yet and asked me what I thought or I gave my opinion unheeded I cain't remember. I told him to buy it for as cherry as car appears. He won't tell me the price(he's secretive and that's fine with me) so I don't know if he is getting a good deal or not. I just know the car appears immaculate and sounds good with no smokage or apparent leaks.
How reliable were Saab V6's from this era. It appears to be the GM Opel V6. The 54 degree one. I think this is the daddy of the one put in to the Catera. I know that one had alot of issues but I'm hoping this one didn't.
KBB blue books this car at $3400 dealer price and since he is buying form a dealer that should be close to what he is paying.
I just wonder if any of you have any knowledge of this model. Thanks in advance!
