Having ordered a 12 quart " case " of Havoline Dexron VI from Amazon , on Aug 7 , I received it yesterday PM via UPS .

Did not open the case to read labels . We are going out of town tomorrow , so I will try to get back to the Caprice AT , after we return .

Still debating about using Dexron VI or III in the Caprice . The Havoline Dexron VI cost about $ 4.50 a quart , with free delivery . That is about as cheap as I can buy Dexron VI .

Why would it be a debate? III is inferior and won't lasts long.

Well as long as you have the Dexron VI you might as well use it. I would be more hesitant to use a generic Dex/Merc in my own 4L60E, since Dexron VI (and Mercon V) are the current specifications, with all licenses having expired on their predecessors.

And the Havoline is about as cheap as MaxLife . If drained every once in a while , either one would probably out last me . So , probably does not matter which .

Unless I find III on sale .
