Is it ok to run full syn. when brand new? I just changed it to Amsoil 10w30 from the factory fill. My buddies borrowed the generator cuz he's framing his house....I've heard maybe you shouldn't change to syn. during brake in? It doesn't have a filter, it's just splash lub. and only hold .6ml of oil....

you want to change the oil after a few hours to get the break in wear out .Other than that there is no problem using syn oil in a new engine "break in"

My new Honda generator says to change the oil in 5 hours, then go to the normal schedule of 50 hours (25 hard service). I am doing two 5 hour dino runs, then in goes the Redline.
