Here's an UOA from a short 3k interval I did before winter before switching to a synthetic 5w40. I have the stock tune with an AFE dryflow intake and AFE oil pan that makes the sump an even 3 gallons.

I think this oil was discontinued because I don't see it available for sale at WalMart anymore.

I service a '15 Jeep GC with the EcoDiesel, for a friend. She has had some problems, but her GC sure is beautiful.
It is an earlier 2015; it has the 8 quart pan. I think they switched to a 10 quart pan....
The oil filter is up top; nice and easy to service. Even though the Mopar filter is stupid expensive...

I've been using these K&N filters. I wish Fram made an Ultra for the VM Motori 3.0L V6 Diesel Engine.

GC's have an 8 quart oil pan while the RAM has a 10 quart. I use AFE oil filters for my 2016 GC Ecodiesel which are rebranded Donaldson...

Actually it is 10 liters which is 10.6 quarts. For 130k miles I have poured in an even 11 quarts that puts it right at the top fill mark.

OP.... why in the world are you only doing 3,100 miles? Not only does the OM say you can do 10k OCI's, but my OLM has always allowed me to go 10k miles. Shouldn't be a problem with 11 quarts in the sump. I have used Rotella T6 5w40 for the last 70k miles.

I bought a 4 pack of AFE filters and ran them in the past. Good to know that they're rebranded Donaldson. Full synthetic too! 👍🏼

My sump is an even 12 quarts now with the AFE oil pan. My truck doesn't require any make-up oil over an OCI so it's nice to buy three 1 gallon jugs and just pour them in without having to measure.

BITOG, UOA's, and changing oil are all a hobby for me that I do for fun because I enjoy them. I typically run 5k mile OCI's. This time I dumped the 15w40 Synthetic Blend at 3k miles for a 5w40 Full Synthetic for easier winter starts. With things in my area re-opening up I'm doing a lot more driving so I may run 10k miles on the current fill of Delvac Extreme 15w40 Synthetic.

I use 3 gallons of Mobil Delvac 1300 15W40 in my Cummins Ram and change the oil when the OCI says so. I was running the 5W40 but experienced shear. This oil would allow me to go back to a full synthetic but to be honest my UOA have been decent with the 15W40 "semi-synthetic" and my wallet likes the price better :ROFLMAO:

Just my $0.02

Only $15.48/gallon and ships free with a $35+ order.

So price difference is about he cost of a twelve pack of Hazy IPA. Maybe you're right, the savings is worth it 🤔
