Single mom has a 2014 Elantra with P301,p302 and p304 misfire codes. Dealer installed a crank position sensor and did intake service among other things at $1300.00. Car runs ok but will die intermittently for no apparent reason. 78k on the clock. I saw one video where a car did this and it had water in the fuel rail. Any suggestions?

I would put a voltmeter on the battery and see if its low. If the alternator is not putting out it could die from a discharged battery. Check the battery connections, make sure they are tight.

The b1112 code is low voltage to the brake system/or belt harness system. The p300 codes are cylinder misfires. If its not misfiring then the crank sensor fixed that.

Check battery/Alternator as described earlier. Keep in mind, its a smart charge system. If you don't have a pile type battery checker, you can take it to autozone or such and get it checked. One "poor mans" way is also to turn on ignition, and every other electrical components, lights, high beam, radio A/C etc., except the engine. use a voltmeter to check the battery. It should be over 11.9 Volts. if below, replace it. With all electrical still on, start the engine and immediately check voltage again. it should be 13.8 or higher for at least a minute or two. if not, check alternator.

I put a meter on the battery and it had good. Voltage . The ecu was getting 14 volts. The alternator seemed to put out between 13 and 14 volts although at times it did seem to fluctuate in that range. The alternator on my wife’s car does that for fuel savings not sure it’s the same for this car.
