13K miles in an ev6 GT

We don't see KIA EV 6's around here, even at the major electric car charging watering holes. I'd settle for any color. I think they look nicer than a Mustang Mach-E
I've actually seen way more EV6's here than I have Mach-E's. I think I have only seen two Mach-E's in person, which is strange because there are quite a few Ford dealers around.

EV6 is an awesome looking vehicle and maybe it just stands out more than the others?
It is very good looking, that's for sure. The Mach E, somehow falls short. It is almost as if the tables have turned and now the Americans make the funky looking, and wonky driving vehicles.

Nice writeup! Very handsome car not to mention that performance is incredibly impressive.

I really like the EV6 looks, if anything were to happen to my ID.4 I would very strongly consider an EV6 lease special (Wind) and cross shop with a newer ID.4 (Pro S).

Thanks for the write up, this is my favorite when I turn in the civic lease in April. Sadly my wife thinks it’s hideous so it would take more to convince her (test drive maybe?). Not sure I’m prepared to put up the coin for the 65k model but even the slower one probably feels quick. I’m not obsessed with going green but I hate the gas prices so next up is electric or what the wife wants, accord hybrid touring.

The way I see it is, if I am driving the vehicle I can't see it so I don't care what others think. I just get a kick out of the car's performance!

I actually think it looks sick but her taste is different. I’m with you on that though, if it’s fun who cares.

These are cool cars, glad you are enjoying it!

Seriously fast machine.

The 0-130mph performance is identical to a Urus Performante. For $65K and peanuts in operating cost. Truly insane. It's a shotgun in a phone booth. Maximum violence for the dollar.
I love how you put this. Quality.

One more thing...the EPA 206mi? Very underrated. I charged the car to 100% and then drove to work and back home twice. This was a total of 175ish miles. 40% of that was rural 55mph highway, 40% 70-75mph on the freeway, and 20% of that 25-45mph city streets. I then drove to the gym and back home again, which was the rest of the miles you see, which was 90% 55mph rural highway, and 10% city streets (45ish mph). The results were a 210 actual miles travelled, with a remaining estimated 45 miles, and 19% battery remaining. The initial estimate was 257mi range, which proved to be within 1% of actual. I used "Normal" mode, set my AC to 68-70, and regen was left on "3" except when modulated with the paddles to match hill descent demands while maintaining steady speed. Weather ranged from 60-80*f, and there was no rain. Tires were Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, with 6/32 tread remaining. OEM size.

unfortunately the local dealer who lost his franchises recently due to disgraceful behavior ($1.5M deceptive practice state fines) has likely block the local sales ($20k markups during height).

I see far more Rivian than these locally. Maybe it will change with new Kia franchise owners .

The EV6 is very uncommon here in central Indiana as well. The Rivians both models are everywhere

None of the local dealers to me have a GT would have to travel to even test drive or purchase one. Then the fact that buyers will likely get 7500 off a Tesla performance model in a few months may hurt things as well. Although I do like the ev6 gt better

EV6 are sitting on dealer lots around here. Maybe price and lower range hurts them (ones sitting).

Yeah, that's the GT. The lesser models have up to 300 like a Tesla.
The GT and M3P/MYP all have about the same real world range more or less. Now that the NACS--->CCS1 adapaters are dropping, literally no reason anyone should be in a Tesla unless they want to be. I got 255mi out of my GT. Edmunds got 238. Out of a M3P, they got 256, and out of a MYP, they got 263. So the spread between them is a whopping 25 miles. If you are cutting it that close, then a weather shift will get you, anyway. It's not like the cars involved actually have a 303 and 206mi range.

It’s unfortunately why I don’t drive an EV myself. Cold weather alone will drastically lengthen my longer commutes. A Model S would be enough, but I’m not paying that for a car. In winter I would likely not make Milwaukee and back in my wife’s car. No problem any other time of year though.

I’m sure not going to drive a vehicle that gets horrible mpg either. I know my driving needs are on the extreme end of personal use without actual state to state travel, but the cars in my preferred price range and size aren’t quite enough for my worst case weather usage.

Does it keep track of total KWH charged, or give you a lifetime mp/kwh?
I think you gave us that stat once?

Last year I net exported 3 MW, and Im far better off finding a way to use that during the year vs get an infinitesimally tiny credit.
