1200hp turbocharged lsx oil

My engine builder said to use a quality 5w40 grade oil. I've ran some Castrol gtx for break in but now I'm looking to pour in some good stuff.it's a weekend toy that I take to the track. I'm looking at the Pennzoil ultra platinum 5w40 I run a Wix Racing filter as its the only one I've found that fits my remote mount oil filter housing. With the amount of use I'm looking for a once a year oil change

You would be served well by Pennzoil Ultra Platinum on an annual or bi-annual change.

As in Chevy engine? I bet you can't keep your foot in it for long that is some serious power.
 
For that much power im sure the turbo is putting out some serious boost. This is one where redline is a good choice, and at minimum id want high PAO for max oxidation resistance.
 
My turbocharged 351W Mustang wasn't as wild a yours, I was making "only" 2.2 HP per cubic inch.

I always ran Shell Rotella T6 5w-40 in that beast, and still would today if I still had it.

Your motor, your oil choice. Magnetic drain plug. Magnet JB Welded on the filter can (heat resistance). Inspect both when you change. Any Fe metals stop before you need a whole motor ... UOA looking for high aluminum (piston skirts) and lead (bearings) ...

I've got a Gen 3 LR4 in a Gbody, 87 Regal. Going BTR springs and pushrods, stock heads, plate an a Proform 650, MSD 6010.
