MPG the Corolla hybrid gets driving around a mix of city and country roads. It is actually 64.2 hand calculated, not the 65.7 indicated
Highway is 53.4 MPG hand calculated doing long 70-74 MPH drives. AC running. The AC still runs when the car is operating by battery as the compressor is not belt driven.
It was running on the battery when I snapped the pic. Hold means I pressed the brake hold, so at a stop light, you can let your foot off the brake and the car won't creep forward.

The little air filter that could on the Corolla Hybrid. Minimag light and a pencil tire pressure gauge as reference.
the side benefit, other than the obvious, is the AC compressor can be sized perfectly for the job @ hand and will not need to be oversized to compensate for idle or low RPM situations.
