Blades are sold individually now anyway so it's a non-issue... I do remember when they (some brands/designs of wipers) were sold in pairs and vehicles with (2) different size blades were out there. If you really wanted that particular wiper design, you had to buy one to install and one to save for later.

It’s pretty much the standard and gives the greatest amount of windshield clearing. Those of us who remember the old car windshield wipers will recall that large portions of the windshield didn’t get wiped. The upper middle section for example.

Also we have to take into account that newer cars have cameras which need clear vision to operate.

When I had my 2004 S60R I would get the blades from Volvo. They were sold in a pair with both sides included. They also sold the spark plugs in a 5 pack.

From the automaker, yeah, I can see that. But even Ford doesn't do that nowadays (at least not for the blades for Fusions, in my experience). :)

I've seen spark plugs sold as "sets" still today. I thought Honda liked to do that.

Yup, they are individual. My wiper inventory keeps growing and growing.

I'm thinking different sized wiper blades have been used for a long time. Pretty sure even my '97 Saturn had two different sizes.

My MG has the same size on all 3 windshield wipers. Yes, you read that correctly .

I thought all cars have different size wipers. My Camry takes an 18" and a 26".
18 " & 26"?

and here I was gonna complain about my C-Max Taking a 28" & 24"
the net effect of which is the cleaned area of my windshield doing the Colbert eyebrow...

Last time I bought wiper blades at Walmart, the cashier said "Not sure if you noticed, but you have 2 different size blades." I replied, "yes, thanks. the car has 2 different size blades on it." She replied, "Oh, so weird....."

My Grand Caravan takes a 26” on the drivers side and a 20” on the passenger side 🥴
26" and 16" on my G35
Those are all "tandem" style correct? I'm used to that and it doesn't bother me as much...
The C-Max has Opposed blades, which i am used to being the same on both sides....but it takes a 28" on the driver's, and 24" on the passengers*.. i should try and get a picture some time...

*2012-13 models spec the 24" passenger blade....2014-18 spec a 26" which is what i'm running now... next time I MIGHT just bump 'em both up to 28" and see what happens.!
2012-13 models also call for 5w20, where the 14-18 call for 0w20... apparently my 13's previous owner ran 5w30! at least according to the hand writing in the owners manual that says in shaky old people script - "BEST OIL, Castrol 5w30"
So far i've had MC ,Havoline Syn, maxlife Syn, and now Havoline Syn again, all 5w20.... if it ain't broke?
