I read too where the same engine started out with w30. So I looked for the thickest 20 I could find and settled on Castrol Edge Titanium 5w20. But it's got a slow rear seal leak now so I'll probably be trying Valvoline HM next time which is probably thicker.
0w30 for the new Caravan?

You may. I doubt it will make any difference.
I used SS 0W-30 in our 2005 Pacifica with the 3.5L V-6 from 10,000 km on. I did annual oil changes with an Ea oil filter. It now has 364,000 km but started using oil and developed a lifter tick a couple of years ago. Still running though. We were doing 30,000 km a year for a few years, so maybe annual changes were too long? SS has done me well in several other vehicles, and it certainly improves winter starts.
My mom's eagle had the 3.5L and started using oil around 200,000km I think it may just have worn at that point. I know it's a small sample size just our two cases.
