Hey I just got finished with my auto rx and im doing the ater flush now with castrol gtx 10w40 and I started to see what might be a minor rear main seal leak, now if I go to synthetic 0w30 will that problem not compound itself greatly?

No to duck the subject, but try a 2nd ARX treatment. After 2 treatments in my 1987 I am using GC now with no leaks or consumption at all. In my 1999, I am going back to GC 0w30 after 2 ARX treatments with no leak issues yet(crosses fingers). All motor oils meet a seal compatability test. You did not mention your vehicle, is 0w30 needed? I have heard Mobil 1 5w-40 T&S has stopped leaks.

NO - synthetic oils do not cause leaks or cause leaks to get worse. The AutoRX has cleaned any sludge & varnish away from an already present leak, causing the current leak. Synthetic oil will not make this any worse.

However, if the leak persists, I would attempt the second autoRX treatment in an attemp to swell the seal and reseal the leak. From the way you descibe it, with autoRX loosened the junk around the seal, but didn't get to the seal.

Frank would be the better person to decide if a second treatment is needed, but I'd bet he will advise the use of a second treatment.
