Full disclosure, I quickly skimmed the rest of the thread because it seemed to break down into bickering, so please excuse me if this was already mentioned.
I know some people like to use a thicker gear oil in their rear differential if they're going to be towing an excessive amount. I don't tow so I can't say, but I wanted to mention it in case it's something you think is worth looking into.
Similarly, make sure you've got good oil in your transmission since it will be working hard too.
