A quick look at Walmart showed M1, but did not see any other synthetic oil. Will be needing some for 2015 Forester 2.5 engine. My normal oil for other vehicles is PP or PU, but did not see any 0W20. I will keep looking.

My local WM carries 0w20 QSUD IIRC. Napa Synthetic is also a consideration. Obviously not a WM product though.

If you want some really great stuff made by ExxonMobil go to a Toyota dealership and get Toyota Genuine 0w20 if you want to spend the extra few bucks over the Mobil 1 AFE 0w20. Prices vary by dealership.

I've seen Castrol Edge Syntec as well.

Did you check online for stock of the different 0W-20s online? You should be able to see what's available for pick up as soon as today.

gl!

I'm not die hard nor a fan-boy of any specific brand of synthetic motor oil however today I was at WM and the gallon jug of Royal Purple 0W20 was on clearance for $30.00 (Reg. $38) and since my Acura TL requires 0W20 I loaded up and took the 4 jugs on the shelf. Sharing the deal...

FWIW, I'd just as soon use M1 0W-20.
Walmarts around us stock QSUD, PP and Synpower as well as M1 AFE in the 0W-20 grade.
Following the FF, I've had PP, HGMO and TGMO in our one 0W-20 app and I really can't tell the difference between them in cold starting, fuel economy or perceived engine smoothness.
The TGMO might have brought a little easier cold starting than the other oils I've used on the -12F morning that greeted us Tuesday, but that may have just been my imagination since the HGMO SM I've used for a couple of fills including last winter's is also a high VI oil.

M1 EP would be an excellent choice if your favourite isn't available.

Go with M1 EP 0W20 which is their newest addition to the EP family. You can't go wrong with M1 0W20 AFE or M1 0W20 EP!

I'm not sure if you guys have Meijer in NY, but they have Valvoline Synpower 0W-20 at ours. I opted for the M1 0W-20 instead, because of its excellent cold flow characteristics. I couldn't find the 0W-20 EP, so I got the AFE instead.

+1

I was in walmart last week and M1 EP was same price as the AFE. 26.68$ per jug i believe.

My wife and I are on our second Subaru that specs 0W-20. On her previous car I used PP, QSUD, M1 AFE, and NAPA Syn. For some reason we had some mild usage (nothing like those with Subie oil burners have experienced) with QSUD. I always had some minor usage with everything other than the NAPA syn. It was the only oil I used that always stayed on the full mark through the oci.

On her new one I went with M1 AFE on its first change and had no usage. Just changed it last week and did M1 AFE again. Not going to fix what isn't broken.

I was just at Autozone and noticed they are now carrying store brand 0w20 synthetic with API SN resource conserving labels as well as GF5. I also noticed that the synthetic Autozone 5w30 is Dexos approved now.

They are both in silver bottles with WNP stamps on the bottle.

Most Walmarts here stock M1 AFE & EP, PP & QSUD, edge, syn power and RP. I've used all but the royal purple and castrol. The closest store I stop at stopped carrying the QSUD when pennz. & QS syn blends came out. As mentioned the Napa 0w20 is good when on sale.

nearby walmarts carry Valvoline , castrol black bottle, M1 EP, M1 AFE, PP, PU

none carry all of those but between 3-4 nearby locations...

This is what I would go with in your new Ford that calls for 0W20. It meets all of your warranty needs( view PDS on mfg's site not the retail source site which is outdated/wrong ). Price shipped is right there with WalMart 5qt jugs or even better depending on your actual zip for shipping...

Buy Kendall 0W20 GT-1 Full Synthetic w/ LT:
http://www.petroleumservicecompany.com/1057222.html

MFG's PDS Kendall GT-1 Full Synthetic w/ LT:
http://www.phillips66lubricants.com/brands-products/kendall_brand/motor-oils.aspx

Cost p/case 12 qts = $49.32 x 2 cases = $98.64
Shipping to Upstate NY( approx. ) = $17.22
Total 2 cases shipped = $115.86
Cost p/qt = $115.86 / 24 = $4.83 p/qt

Not knowing your town/city I had to guess on the shipping. I grabbed a zip out of Orange County and used that. Shipping from PSC is always less the closer you are to the shipping terminal/warehouse so your actual shipping might be less or a little more depending on exact location there in NY. Shipping up here to me in NH only jumps a couple bucks so the price I gave you shouldn't be off by too much.

NOTE - the best shipping deal from PSC is ALWAYS 2 cases at a time. Buying more does not make it cheaper. I don't know why but it is always 2 cases.

This is what I would run if I were you. Great oil, affordable, meets all your needs, and they always stock Kendall at PSC and they ship fast. Kendall is a vastly underrated and underappreciated oil.

Hmm. The Walmart stores that are local to me carry 0W-20 full synthetic in M1 AFE, M1 EP, PP, Castrol Edge, and at least one other, though I can't recall which one, as I haven't ever used it.

While I have looked often, I have yet to see PU in 0W-20. Sure wish I could find it. I'd like to use it. But I'm unwilling to pay the price wanted for it on Amazon.
