0W20 oil....probably beating a dead horse

I bought my wife a 2012 Accord I4. With my other cars I always use Maxlife 10/30 high mileage because all my other car have 200K plus miles.

This accord has 44K roughly. I can't find 0W/20 conventional oil at ChinaMart.

Is 0W/20 full synthetic? (ChinaMart has royal purple and castrol edge in 0W/20 full syn) with this newer car i want to follow what owner manual states....i've never used a full syn oil.

Most 0w20s are synthetics. There are one or two that are a blend.

Some of the Honda labeled quarts of 0w20 are syn-blends. If none of the 0w20s are available you can use 5w20 oils safely. Motorcraft 5w20 would be very good along with most of the other name brand ones. Hard to go wrong with any of the oils they sell at WM.

Yep. Just buy whatever 0W20 is on sale; QSUD is great at $21.97. That engine isn't that picky about oil.

Yes virtually all 0w20 are full syn, while a few blends are available none of them are at Wally's AFAIK.

You can run a quality 5w20 without issue but I understand wanting to follow the manual on your nicest car, the Edge 0w20 or anything else they have in 0w20 will do you fine.

I think I saw Pennzoil Plat 0w20 at Wally's last time I was in maybe it will appear near you as well. They don't have Mobil 1 0w20? Wally's usually has the best selection of M1 on the planet.

Just use Motorcraft 5w20 or another 5w20. Pyb 5w20 is a good Walmart pick.

M1 0W-20 full synthetic is $22.45 (5L) now at Costco.

It's actually a box full of six quarts for $26.99 before tax.

I'd use 0w-20 and the Maintenance Minder. That is what your manual says to use and gives no other options.

However using 5w-20 conventional on 5k OCI's won't hurt anything if you're hellbent on not using synthetic.

Yes there are a few blends though as already mentioned. Likely they contain enough Group III base oil to be called "synthetic" if they wanted.

Motorcraft doesn't make a blend 0w-20 but SOPUS has blend 0w-20 in Pennzoil and Quaker State (not shown on the webpages, but they exist).

I run 5W-20 0n the Oddy in summer and 0W-20 in the winter for extra startup ease/protection. The OP down in Bama can just run a good 5W-20 year round. I myself use Mobil1, Pennzoil Platinum and Castrol Edge interchangeably, but any good syn/semi syn will be fine. Just follow the Maintenance Minder
