Pity Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 dropped their gasoline 'approval'. I ran it for many years in both motorcycles and my older cars up until about 2015. Seems like it would cover things rather well.

It would, but there are better choices some will argue without proof.
To pass MA/MA2 for motorcycles, it must also pass API SJ for gasoline engines.

And since Rotella T6, at least in 5W40 formulation, is 'diesel only', other choices will prevail.
