I wonder what could happen to my Jeep 3.6L V6 if I use 0W-40.
It will run smooth and well. Perhaps even quieter with less valvetrain clatter.

The reason for 0/8 0/16 is just dumb. It’s all about cafe and I personally could care less if it suffered a .01 mpg loss bc I choose to use a little thicker oil like a 0/30seems like you’re blaming the weight of an oil instead of blaming the design of the engine. There’s millions of cars including the Prius, Tacoma, tundra, Corolla, etc etc that have done just fine on 0w20 and will do just fine on 0w16/0w8
You might not care but the car manufacturers do.The reason for 0/8 0/16 is just dumb. It’s all about cafe and I personally could care less if it suffered a .01 mpg loss bc I choose to use a little thicker oil like a 0/30
GM uses a different M1 0w40 in the Corvette, they use Supercar 0w40 (which was previously called ESP Formula 0w40)M1 0w40 FS. I think GM had this oil as factory fill in Vettes at one point. Porsche, too (???). Easy to acquire, proven oil, just "set it and forget it". My 4Runner 4.7 loves it!
GM used the FS 0W-40 in their Race Program Corvettes (this was before the Super Car product existed).GM uses a different M1 0w40 in the Corvette, they use Supercar 0w40 (which was previously called ESP Formula 0w40)
I never knew that actually. I was only thinking about the production carsGM used the FS 0W-40 in their Race Program Corvettes (this was before the Super Car product existed).
Yeah, thought it was interesting, though not overly surprising given that Porsche was using it in their 24hr cars at the same time.I never knew that actually. I was only thinking about the production cars
The macan came with a "top up" bottle in a special bag. I need to check if it's still the original bottle from 2017. It's 0w40, but not sure of the vintage.Yeah, thought it was interesting, though not overly surprising given that Porsche was using it in their 24hr cars at the same time.
If it does not say ESP on bag, you must use FSThe macan

Honest question: Is that a fact, or were they using custom blends packaged in those bottles?Yeah, thought it was interesting, though not overly surprising given that Porsche was using it in their 24hr cars at the same time.
Weird bc my 2015 acura MDX J35 supposedly had it, I’ve never felt it, and no eco light ever comes on. Unless it came in a mid model change. My date of mfg is 2014 sold as a 15.Mazda started pushing out cylinder deactivation across the line up a few years ago and I fear what will become of those engines in the future. I can't think of a case where cylinder deactivation tech has not hurt longevity/reliability; the Honda J35 (one of the greatest mainstream V6s to be made, IMO) has suffered long term issues bc of their VCM nonsense.
I use M1 0/40 in my 2024 Ram 3.6LI wonder what could happen to my Jeep 3.6L V6 if I use 0W-40.
The fee mfg don’t care about us, they only care about cafe and getting the vehicle past the warranty. And as you know, Toyota tundra engine problems they’ve nowYou might not care but the car manufacturers do.
Doug Hillary and Johnny (who worked for Pennzoil) confirmed that it was just OTS FS 0W-40 that came in the regular cardboard boxes it was typical to see it in.Honest question: Is that a fact, or were they using custom blends packaged in those bottles?
