I am not sure how is pricing of oil in Turkey. For 0w20 C5 C6 standard, you have plenty of options. From the cheapest Mannol 7921 or 7722 (508/509) to the most expensive Ravenol VSE or Amsoil Signature.

I prefer to use Mannol 7722 with about 35% PAO 55% group III and cheap. Less than 1/2 price of Ravenol VSE.
Alternatively, 0w30 or 0w20 Shell Ultra GTL oil is great.

I don't know about Mannol but 35% PAO sounds quite good, especially if its at a lower price point

It used to be €60 per 10L, but Mannol did not renewed the 508/509 approval in 2025 even though they confirm the formulation stays the same. Now it cost 40€ per 10L. A good deal for a trully tested 508 509 oil.
Mannol/Fanfarro is a budget oil, with central office in Germany under SCT group, factory in Lithuania.
Their 504/507 Oil still has approval from VW 7715 5w30 m, and 7730 0w30 because of larger volume payback the license cost

I still have 1L left over Ravenol VSE, and 4L Aral 508 Oil, both are trully PAO oil that can be labeled Fully synthetic in Germany. Others are only labeled synthetic.

I did not feel any difference in terms of power or engine sound, compared to Original VW/Shell GTL oil. I heard mostly road and wind noise in Auris/Corolla Station wagon Hybrid above 70 mph.

I used Manol 7918 API SP and 7722 508/509, Castrol Edge, and all are also fine. 7918 contains <=26% PAO, but cost €35 for 10L, danggg cheaper than Walmart Group iii oil. It is probably made out of underpriced Russian Oil.

Those certifications cost an arm an a leg, I am still surprised how so many firms are paying to get those

VW certification is not too expensive compared to DexosD, or Dexos1gen3. Often cheaper oil like Supertech Walmart, Costco, or Amazon Basic with Dexos1gen3 use straight from tested combo (base +additives package) from Lubrizol, Afton Chem, Infinium, or Oronite. Therefore, they don't need to pay millions $ tests, just pay a bit royalty instead.

VW, Benz, BMW, Volvo oil certification cost is not astronomical in lubricant industry. Fortunately we have the generic ACEA standard like C3, C5, or older A3/B4, just like API SP, SQ,..

It benefits us in pricing and less marketing, royalty costs.

That is only GM. Others have a one-time fee for approval or renewal.

5w30 in Europe is not always a full synthetic. They can be "Synthetic Technology" aka Group III Hydrocracked Petroleum distillates.

I never thought about from this angle. Very interesting.
I have a feeling there should always be an edge case where a really small sale product should be an exception, but i just thought about if I have ever seen a 0w-20 that is conventional oil, and realized i never have! Thanks for opening my eyes

You need to stop thinking and start knowing. Five seconds with a search engine turned up the fact that Acura, Honda, Castrol, Motorcraft, Havoline have synthetic blend motor oils. That was just on Walmart.com.

High sulfur is not an issue in Turkey; their gasoline complies with Euro 6d and is ultra low sulfur nationwide.
