Just because you work at a lube shop doesn't mean you know more than any other noob on this board. I doubt you even look at the motor long enough to know what it is, you just open the book and find how many quarts and what filter it takes, then you are probably busy cross threading pan bolts and marking the filter with paint to ensure they customer doesn't mess with it to make sure you aren't liable, side by side with recommending 3k changes so the motor will never even be close to a lubrication failure that is the oils fault and then they will return more generating revenue...

So what? Then you should know that 8000 miles is hardly a 'super-extended OCI' with a quality synthetic.

Being an oil change tech in the 1990's did nothing to make me an expert on modern oil formulations...

Don't get into an argument with an internet expert. Their theories will somehow over ride real life experience.
Boosted must be a Jiffy Lube tech!!! LOL

Why does this sound so plausible to me?

I was going to rotate the tires on the new to me 94 Honda Accord, of course I found at least six studs and lug nuts cross threaded.

I think the places should be sued everytime they pull this [censored], because deliberately destroying others property is a CRIME.

I don't think it is deliberate, it is just ignorance or training. I think they think it is quicker to start the lug nuts with the impact.

Doesn't sound like a bad combo. I've also seen some very impressive 15k runs of PU in the uoa section, sounds like a once a year oc could be possible for you.

Grey/brown/metal = first oil change
sludged up/clogged filters = Penzoil dino + Toyota engine

Explains it all. Clogged filters? That's a first, did you cut them open? How do you know they are clogged?
