06 lucerne driver pwr seat wont move forward

I have a 06 lucerne cx model, that my wife was vacuming yesterday, she moved the drivers seat back 1/2 way and now it won't go forward. it will still go backwards if you want it to as well as up and down and recline, but however far back you keep moving it, it stays there..any suggestions..it happened once before for like two days , then all of a sudeen started working again, over two years ago..thanks

Sounds like a failing switch to me. Remove the switch, blast it with electrical contact cleaner and re-install, and you might get it to work.

If it doesn't work after that, get a new switch.

ok, i'm not familiar with the switch your refering too...where is it located? and what would it look like? will it be a simple plug and play type.

Do you remember when you were trying to move the seat forward? Your hand was pushing a switch. I hope it was anyway, otherwise there isn't anything wrong except that you forgot to push the switch. That would be a bigger problem.

What about moving the seat vertical? Will it still so straight up and straight down?

The vertical and horizontal movement are on the same switch. Recline is on a separate switch.

yeah, it goes up and down, it reclines back and forth, and will continue to move backwards, but will not move forward.

that's ok, it happens...anyway I found the problem just in case this happens to anyone else...apparently their is a on/off switch on the bottom of the seat, that was moved to the off position when she was vacuuming, looked under the seat saw the on/off and switched to on, started working again
