No. Could care less what color it is. The used oil analysis was horrible. Sheared badly. Wear metals went skyrocketing. Many poor used oil analysis on here with Royal Purple. Aint doing its job.

You should also go look up the used oil analysis of the RP 10w30. It is obviously working for some people. Just because it didnt work for you or you didnt take time to take it seriously, does not mean it is a bad product. There really is no need for that kind of closed mindedness around here. There is enough of that already.

What in the world are you babbling about son? Numerous used oil analysis. First we had issues with a bearing so we discarded that used oil analysis. Secondly we thought we'll maybe we are running to thin so we went with RP Racing 41. Third used oil analysis was the worst yet. Many used oil analysis here reflect shearing with RP. I'm not bashing RP just sharing my documented experiance as others have. If you dont like it then I cannot help that. But name calling isnt going to change anything. And there is too much of that around here. You want to run it....knock yourself out.

Many used oil analysis reflect shearing with many oils. Why pick on RP? Are you going to go around and tell everyone not to use Pennzoil because it shears?

As a side, I have only seen shearing in the 5w30. I have not seen it in the 10w30 or 5w20 products.

Are you 16? I'm not telling anybody not to buy or utilize RP. I said it sheared on me and on others that have posted in the used oil analysis section. I would never say "dont buy this stuff I dont like it..." I was running Racing 41 and it sheared and I had high wear metals. Grow up.

Sarge is in RP's demographic and if he says it doesn't work for him, that is telling. He's not just another guy behind a keyboard. He uses it as intended. I put stock in that.

What do you mean? Which demographic? RP makes everyday oils for the regular joe, racing oils for the enthusiasts and I think they also make some oils with hardly any additives at all. I dont think RP has just one demographic.

Here, in KC at least, they have commercials on TV. The commercials dont stress the HP aspect but mainly show people trying pour every drop of gas into their tank they can. They are marketing the "improved gas mileage" aspect. They only show cars plain cars in the commercial.

We pick on RP because there is no other synthetic 5w30 out there which shears as badly as RP does! As I've mentioned before, RP 5w30 sheared down from 11.3 cst to below 9.3 cst in my wife's Honda in only 2400 miles! That is absolutely terrible performance from a synthetic oil! If the wear numbers were at least good, I'd excuse it, but bearing wear was 5 times higher with RP than it was when I switched to GC in her car. So I've got good reason to bash RP, it simply does not perform.

The funny thing was, RP sent me free oil to test in my wife's car because they wanted to shut me up. They were convinced that it would perform well for me and then I'd stop badmouthing their oil, but ironically their efforts only made things much worse! Now I had data of my own to prove what I was saying was true, their oil thins out too easily and produces too much engine wear.

First of all I believe what Patman says here. But would just like to say that with RP the only way to go is with the XPR, the API stuff is not worth considering.

I have had great results with the XPR 5w-20 in an LS2!!! The XPR 5w30 performed horribly!!!

So I can't say too much other than it worked for me in one grade, and not in another.

That being said I had planned a switch to GC, but am having excellent results with Redline 5w-20 in two motors. I initially thought the RP was performing better, but upon obtaining the results of the second UOA, I see the Redline results were much much better on the second fill of it?!

If the third UOA looks this good with this many quarter-mile runs and drag racing/top end high speed burning runs on it, I will be forced to consider Redline 5w-20 in everything I own from here on out. It is doing very well in my two motors, I can hardly believe it.
