The engine is a 3.2 liter V6, Honda J-series with a timing belt.
This interval was done on almost entirely interstate highway, very few heat cycles. But desert dust and wildfires were common.
The oil used was Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5w30. My engine calls for 5w20. I tried this due to wondering about a slightly thicker oil for an old engine run hard in high temps.
The wear metals don't look that much different than before though. I think I will stick with 5w20 from now on.
The air filter is Honda OEM and was changed at 189,000 miles, so roughly 25,000 miles ago for this sample. Still running it now at 220,000 miles.
The oil filter was left over from the last oil change interval, it was a Fram Ultra XG 7317. I also run a few powerful but tiny magnets on the outside of the filter.
The short miles on this sample is due to my own timing and availability, I would preferred a longer run but that was when I had the time to change it.
-- Please help me to understand the particle count data. Is it good, bad, typical at 24/21/15? Should I be looking to improve it or leave it alone?
I was curious about the particle count so that is why I decided to try it this time. Thanks for any insight into this.
