04 2500 express small V8 . original owner just replaced all spark plugs and new ignition wires. Had small oil leak replaced valve cover gaskets. Still leaking not oil filter. Open for suggestions yes its engine oil. Thank you jz.

Is it right over the oil filter? That is where the ports are for the oil cooler lines.
The Oil Pan Gasket & Rear Cover Gasket are the 2 most common. The Oil Cooler Block Off can leak.....But by the time I see them it's already been changed as it's easy.
The Oil Pan gasket & Rear Cover gasket BOTH have to deal with pressurized oil & that's why they're more prone to leak.

Up date it might be the rear main seal . Have had 4 flex plates changed then a rebuilt transmission while under warranty. It is engine oil on white towels to check it out. How does Bars stopp leak work for this. jz
It's most likely not the rear main seal, But the Rear Cover Gasket that's leaking. The RCG is the primary seal for the camshaft oil galley crossover at the rear of the engine.
The rear main seal....Assuming that the Rear Cover is aligned properly will last MUCH longer than the Cover gasket itself.
It was cracking Flexplates because the Pilot on the Torque Converter was worn, Very common issue with the HEAVY 310mm 4L80E dual stator Torque Converter, The Flexplate, Crank Adaptor, & Torque Converter have to be replaced to remedy the issue.

Thank you for the info. The flex plate damage was caused by the bendix on the starter, no more problems and that was a few years past. Can my regular tech do the repair he doesn't do transmission work. And if not what would a transmission shop charge, jz.
Make sure the shop has an alignment tool for the rear cover. This job usually runs @ $500 plus parts.

Holley also sells them under their Mr Gasket brand if the shop doesn't have one. I have seen multiple versions online though.
