04 Armada Rear Gear Oil Recommendations?

I searched and didn't find anything. What is a good gear oil to use in the rear end?

Amsoil is hard to beat.

I agree with the amsoil. I have the 06 nissan titan, should be similar in design. I use amsoil severe gear 75w-140. Takes me about 2.25 qts. to fill up.

I also use Amsoil Severe Gear 75W-140 in my 08 Frontier (with a Titan aluminum finned diff cover).

For your Armada, the spec is 75W-90.

You could go past the spec a little and go with the Severe Gear 75w-110. I'm currently running it in my Tacoma with no fuel economy loss.

Yes I like the fact you can half the difference on the weight to 75w-110.

I just looked up the spec in the 04 armada service manual and it calls for 80w-90 for the rear final drive. Either way, due to all the rear diff. failures with our puny pumpkins, they decided to switch out to a thicker weight which is now 75w-140. Either way, you can stick with the 80w-90 or go to a 75w-110 or even a 75w-140, wouldn't hurt in my opinion.

I have read that some of the large Nissan trucks had a problem with noise, and they were filled with an Xw90, and they issued a TSB to use Xw140.

But maybe I am mistaken.
