03 silverado antifreeze change

I'm getting ready to change out the radiator coolant on a 03 silverado. About a year ago I stumbled across some supertech "mix all" antifrezze for about 5 bucks a gallon and bought close to 8 gallons of the stuff. From some reading on here, I believe the supertech antifreeze is the same as dex-cool? But I've also read where some don't like the "mix all" formulas. I'm just planning on draining what is in the radiator and fill it up and be done with it. This sound like an alright thing?

Yes it is compatible if its the pale-green, Supertech Extended Life 5/150 you're referring to.

Drain the radiator and the block, refill with the water, idle the engine for 15 minutes with the heater on, drain, refill, and repeat.

Take the total system capacity and divide by two. Add that amount of concentrated antifreeze, and top-up with water.

I'm coming up on 20 months with the SuperTech 5/150 dexclone in my Hyundai 2.7L V6's cooling system. No problems. It's made for WalMart by Honeywell Systems (Prestone's parent company). The overflow tank and radiator show clear, blue-green fluid, and NO scale or corrosion on the visible core tubing. Good stuff at a fair price. Since your Silverado was filled with DEX-COOL, and it's only two-three years into its service life, you're probably safe to go with a simple drain and refill with the SuperTech after diluting it to 50/50. However, if you get any scale, corrosion, or cloudiness when you drain, better go with a water flush The Critic outlined above. Personally, I prefer flushing and diluting with distilled water rather than tap water.
