03 Passat trans service

New to me Passat 1.8t fwd with 335,000 KMS

Never has had a trans service. I'm going to be dropping the pan and fluids , should I add lube guard when I refill with pentosin

09A right? I think it has an internal strainer that requires disassembly of the trans.

I used Maxlife in mine and it definitely improved the shifting. 335k km on FF ATF? Take that, VW haters! Get ready for some tar to drain out!

Should be a ZF 5 speed. Good transmission.

Lubegard certainly won't hurt anything.

If it is a manual transmission, go ahead. If it is an automatic transmission, expect anything...

01v trans I believe. It does have a serviceable filter in the pan

I'm expecting the worst when I pull that pan. Lube guard will be added to the atf 1 , we'll see how she goes

My mistake, I thought they were the same trans because I actually got a shift indicator plate from the yard to swap into my car because the Passat and Audi ones are much cooler. Sadly the plate was almost identical save for the wiring.
