Changed all of the lubricants in the Miata yesterday.

It has 57k on it, and the transmission has been notchy since I bought it, with 54k on it. I put MTL-R in the 5 speed transmission, HDS-5 75W90 in the diff, and HPSGlide in the power steering.

Transmission shifting has been transformed. Before, I had to get the 1-2 shift just right, or it would crunch. The other gears were not as bad, but would still crunch at times, or just not feel slick. It was worst when it was cold, but never really as good as I had hoped, or been lead to believe from all the magazine reviews...

Now, no matter how I shift, it is always smooth, and when it's hot, it feels like nothing else I've ever shifted, just super smooth and mechanical at the same time, like a good bolt action rifle.

Did not really notice any difference in differential action, but then I did not expect to.

For the power steering, I was quite impressed. I had the car up in the air, and tried turning the wheel back and forth a few times, then emptied the reservoir, and put in the HPSGlide. Tried it a few more times, and when the HPSGlide hit the rack, it was a very noticable differance in effort. I'd say less than half the effort was needed to turn the wheel. I emptied the reservoir again and refilled it, until the bottle was used up. I figure I got at least 3/4 of the old fluid out. Did not really notice any differeance after the first time.

I know MolaKule appreciates your testimonial here, but it would be great if you would go to the SF web site and put your comments in a review.
