    John Deere 757 Hydro Fluid

Hello all, I bought a used John Deere 757 zero turn earlier this year and I want to change the hydro oil. The mower currently has 390 hours on it. I see in the manual that John Deere specs a 15w40 hydro oil for the transmission. I have a preference for Amsoil products, but only see a 5w30 hydro...

Pieces of carbon in oil filter

Did an oil change last night and cut open the filter after work today. I noticed these small pieces of carbon scattered around inside the filter housing and filter. Oil that was drained was Amsoil SS 5w20 and oil that went in was the same. Is this evidence of cleaning prior deposits?

    Amsoil SS 5w-20, 7.6k miles / Ford 5.0L F150, 114k mi

Hello all, I just did my yearly UOA and received some surprisingly poor results from Amsoil SS 5w20 oil with only 7,622 miles on it. The oil was ran in a 2015 Ford F150 with the 5.0. My driving habits are 80% highway, 20% city, and low yearly mileage, but my average trip is around 20 miles one...

Amsoil Signature 0W20 UOA 7,182 Miles / ‘23 Honda Odyssey w/ Prolube Oil Additive

First ever oil analysis on my Odyssey J35Y7 engine, and thought I’d share. This sample did have 6 ounces of the infamous Prolube Oil Treatment added at 1 ounce per quart. Amsoil Oil filter EA15K13. Note: engine is very quiet, sometimes when I stand just outside the driver door talking to my...

    Oils and Warranty

Trying to get some oils ordered for break in of a new 2024 RAV4 as well regular oil for a 2020 Ford Edge SEL. The ford is out of warranty and I'll probably go HPL 5W-30. I'm actually at work during some down time, on an oil well, and have terrible internet service so googling is being a PITA...

Why 5w-40 not listed in 350z manual?

Hi, I have a stock 2004 350z Touring as a daily. I'll bring the car to a drift track to learn the basics. I want to change the oil before I go. According to the user manual, 5W-30 is preferred but 10w-30/40 can also be used if ambient temperature is above -18C. Where I live, it has been...

    Amsoil Severe Gear+Valvoline Synpower 75w90

Hello all, I have been going through my truck changing all fluids. The plan was to change the front diff to Amsoil Severe Gear 75w90 (same as rear diff), but I ordered one too few quarts so I bought a quart of Valvoline to make up the difference. From my search on BITOG, it looks like this mix...

    Amsoil Severe Gear Iron Sulfide

One thing I’ve not been able to find any information about is the Amsoil Severe Gear forming an iron sulfide layer on parts. Does anyone have any additional information on this? I currently use Amsoil Severe Gear as I know it’s a great gear oil, but I’m curious to learn more about iron sulfide...

Amsoil Signature Series vs Motul 300v

Coming from the world of Subaru, owner of an FA24 motor. I wanted to ask the ultimate motor oil question. The battle between the two best of the best. Tom Brady vs Michael Jordan. Who wins? Who's better? Who is the greatest of all time?

Honda CRV 2015, amsoil CVT fluid, 85,000 miles

this was also posted in the “what are you doing today” thread, but it will have more future value I think, over here. Copy: ************ 2015 CRV, (CVT), 5 qts of ATF drained/filled. 85k miles. This was interesting. CVT had drain/fill at 50k with Honda hcf-2. No issue, no change in any...
