Oil dipstick on my dirty engine Hemi charger after 500 miles of Valvoline Restore and Protect

So this car I got with a dropped valve seat. Ex cop car. Changed the heads and bad piston, wasn’t the cleanest, had some sludge and lots of deposits on the bad piston as well as the bottom of the others. Decided to give the new valvoline oil a go (5w20) and this is what the oil on the dipstick...

Pros/Cons of using a HDEO vs a Full Saps PMCO 40wt

Hi all, Some of you may remember my high FE HEMI Mobil 1 0w40 thread.... The issue ended up being the hardening layer of the cam wore off, everything else looked fairly good. The engine got a comp 224/234 cam (over .600 lift) as well as a complete timing and head job with a hellcat oil pump...

M1 FS Euro 0w40 now API SP, Pour point raised per latest PDS

New M1 0w40 Euro PDS shows it meeting API SP and the pour point was raised from -67 to -42......... Really hope they didn't cut the zinc/calcium much but that seems likely given the SP cert... Also makes me wonder if this is something upcoming related to stallantis since this oil was basically...

Valvoline Advanced full synthetic 5w30, Tuned on E85 5.7L HEMI, 6000 mile OCI, 130k on engine

Tuned and running around a 4.6 sec 0-60 time. E85 used as the only fuel for the run.. Run HARD… it sees 6000 rpm every day.. Little disappointed it sheared to a 5w20 but probably to be expected on e85. Add pack looks great on this valvoline!

PUP 0w40 in 5.7L HEMI that will see some "mild" track use.

Hello all, Curious to get some opinions on this. I have a 2014 5.7L HEMI in a Ram 1500. It's going to be getting a 93 Octane tune soon, and ill probably do some drag runs at the track in Nov. Engine internals are stock, bolt on mods only. I've been running Schaeffer's 5w20 with good results...

    5.7 L Hemi (79K) Shaeffers 9000 6000 miles

Lot of high RPMs too in this run. Didn't seem to mind it at all. Side note, that add pack in the shaeffers looks great. 320 ppm of moly + boron and titanium.

    2003 F150 223K UOA

**Not a double post from other thread** Thread in question -- https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/foru...al-flakes-in-oil-normal-uoas#Post5207855 ** Not too bad at all. Pretty convinced that my flakes are from a previous failure that caused the timing chain to chew the front cover, and that its...

Metal flakes in oil, Normal UOAs...

About 30K miles ago I started noticing metal flakes in the drain pan. I figured they were residual when i first noticed them from when a timing chain tensioner broke and the chain was hitting the front cover. Did a UOA when i first noticed them and came back perfectly fine. This engine has...

    2003 F150 4.6L 206K PP HM UOA

Little bit ago at 186K miles when I got the truck, one of the timing chain tensioners was busted and the chain was beating the timing cover up. 3000 mile oil changes since and never really looked for shavings until the last 3 changes and sure enough I found some. Non ferrous and appeared to be...
