Anyone out there with 500,000 miles or more?

A couple of months ago I went up to Stratton, Vt. th the Saab owners convention for the day. What impressed me the most was a Early 90's (can't remember the year)Saab 900 that had.... Hang on now... 956k miles. The owner was obviously quite proud and it was still on its original turbo without...

    Gas milage with GC

Well I finally had a chance to do a run with my newly added Green stuff. As far as I can tell, over the same course, the milage with the GC green is the same as the mobil 1 I had been using. I have accumulated about 46 Qts so I am happy with the prelim. results. Tom

F-150 tranny and rear=end oil question

Hi, I have a 93 F-150 with 120k miles on it. Had to replace the rear u-joint the other day. This truck does not get much use but I need to keep it for several years to come. Have never changed any drivetrain oil except engine (5 SP standard Tranny, 4 w/d). I did check the tranny, transfer case...

    Gas milage with GC

Yesterday was a great day. Finally after months of AutoRx flush and rinse I was able to, at last, add my Green CG. I will be able to get a good sense of the operation and milage in a few days as I will be driving my 60 plus route I have used to get my average milage thus far. Interesting, while...

    Auto-RX flush oil recommendation

Rotella T Synthetic was reccommended as a good oil to use as a flush in our turbo Saabs on the ARX website. It was explained to me that as it was a Group III it did not contain the esters that competed with ARX esters. Frank, did I get this right, or are you now saying this was bad advice. Tom

Risk of Clogging Oil Pump Screen w/Auto-Rx

I have 3 Saabs now and all of them are on a "Auto-RX" program. My personal one s a 96 Aero and although I had a hard time believing it, the milage went from 32-34 strickly highway to 34-36 highway. The other 2 cars and a 00 9-5 and a 01 9-5. It is a well accepted product. I have been using...

Does moly make oil more slippery

I have posted a question on the GC board about the lower amount of moly in their oil is perhaps a factor in the somewhat lower milage reported with this oil. I thought I'd post here as it is more of a gereral technical question. My question is: with 2 oils of the same operating viscosity will...

    Gas milage with GC

Thanks for all the replys. Has there been any evidence that the addition of moly or lack of makes an oil of the same weight more or less slippery? There does seem to the concensious that GC does seem to lower milage a bit. True, it is on the thick side for a 30 WT oil, but I guess my question is...

    Gas milage with GC

I have been wondering if the somewhat lower gas milages reported here with GC green may be due to the lower moly content as compaired to other synthetic oils. I guess what I am asking is, can an oil with the same operating viscosity have lower resistance or drag than another oil. Ie: can an oil...

How to tell if green or gold GC

99 case2, So the lot number is actually stamped into the plastic on the bottom of the bottle. I was looking at the label on the back and could not find it on the German stuff they had at the local Autozone. I did in frustration open a bottle of German and it was gold... Thanks...of to AZ
