    Mobil 1 0W-40, 5,600 miles, 2008 Porsche Cayman S

Here's the screen shot from Blackstone. I ask about copper because it's double the universal average. Not that it's a problem, just curious. This car has 23,000 miles and has had 5 oil changes, I would hope there is no leftover assembly lube or anything left in there!

Here's my second analysis. It looks good, nothing to worry about. The fuel dilution is gone, it was either caused by short trips (didn't have a chance to burn off) or my rings have finally seated. What's copper from? Bearings? Here's the discussion on the original sample...

I wonder if the engine still breaking in (e.g. rings not seating) is the source of the fuel in the oil, and that will decrease as the rings continue to seat?

    Mobile 1 0W-40, 2,600 miles, 2008 Porsche Cayman S

I drive this car to work once or twice a week, the commute is about 30-40 minutes each way. That should be enough to evaporate the fuel, shouldn't it? I haven't done a drive longer than that in some time. The electric engine bay cooling fan comes on (as it should, the mid-engine layout doesn't...

I just took a sample. The oil only has 2,600 miles on it.

    Mobile 1 0W-40, 2,600 miles, 2008 Porsche Cayman S

This oil has been in service for about 8 months. I did three or four autocrosses on this oil. There are about 14,600 miles on the engine, and about 2,600 miles on the oil. Here are the comments by Blackstone. They say change the oil out to lower accumulations. Accumulations of what? The metals...

    Two New Auto-Rx Applications

Hi Frank, thanks for the fast track instructions. Is there a typo in there, though? You say "If you are planning on staying with dino or group III a simple oil change interval can be used for the rinse." Do you mean "single oil change interval" instead of "simple?"

Poll : What would you use

I don’t understand your comment about “You get to choose what you would rather hear was run in the crank case.” For me, the issue would not be what I would rather hear, the issue would be exactly what this product was. Pick up the phone, call the guy, and politely explain that you are the owner...

Will leftover oil and ARX affect the rinse phase?

Hi again Gary, Your points are well taken, and I certainly understand Frank’s concern with “fielding endless repetitive questions that revolve around the same recurring themes regardless of how he alters his instructions or reconfigures his web site.” I wouldn’t like that either. To play...

    Injector Cleaner ?

Quote: My source tells me that they are still use PEA in the REGANE and the Large Vehicle Fuel System Cleaner. I know this to be true, but I seem to get better "seat of the pants" results with Regane than the Large Vehicle Fuel System Cleaner. I can't explain it.

    Champion complete fuel system cleaner

Is it one of those cheap cleaners? You know, $1.99 or $2.99 or so? If so, don't bother. See if you can find the MSDS online, and see if it lists polyether amines in it.
