    E.O.S (Engine Oil Supplement)

I have used GM EOS and its equiv (look up SLOB) in lots of motors over the years long term. The HDEO oils used to have higher ammounts of ZDDP before they reduced it around the time of the launch of cat converters in big rigs. The thought was too much of the heavy metals could plug the cats up...

Best ATF for 2000 Park Ave, 25,000, Southern MI

Just bought (another) Park Ave from the original owner. It's a 2000, 25,000 miles. Has the 4T65E-HD ATX. I have all the dealer service records, and it appears that it has not yet had a trans fluid change, but fluid looks/feels great, trans shifts great. I'll be flushing/changing all fluids. I'll...

Change or Not Chane ATF Fluid

Lifetime fluid. Not in my lifetime, I assure you. Go to any big salvage yard and look around at the late model vehicles that still have a drivetrain. The majority will have good engine/bad trans written on them. I see it all the time. Depending on your driving habits and what tranny you have...

    Best and Worst Transmissions

Worst: Ford A4LD. I believe the LD stood for "Limited Duty" Best: Chrysler 727. Have them in my motorhome, race car, plow trucks, etc.. Easily rebuildable, can handle 500 horse plus in stock form, and MUCH more with a few upgrades. Best auto trans ever made IMO. I've seen many examples go 200K...

When is GC NOT a good oil for the application

The title says it all. I love this stuff and have nothing but good things to say about it. I still have 70 bottles of green left, so the question is: In what vehicles and applications would you absolutely not choose GC? I'm here in Mid Michigan, and I run it in everything but my flat tappet big...

Your favorite non-OEM halogen headlight bulb?

For standard replacement: Sylvania Xtravasion are a hard value to beat. Nighthawks are darn good too, little pricey. Better than all IMO are the Toshiba HIR Bulbs. Wow. And at $30 each, not any more than many of the bling bulbs like silverstars, but way more full spectrum lumens.

    Toshiba HIR Lights

My nightvision not being what it once was, I began researching brighter headlights quite some time ago. I was very interested in these HIR bulbs, and read several promising articles from reputable sources in addition to speaking with the experts at Daniel Stern Lighting. Guys in several other...

Is GC still best choice for GM 3800 for winter?

Hi guys. Just need a bit of verifying to put me back at ease. Have been using my supply of Green GC for a couple of years now in conjunction with WIX Gold filters. Vehicles are 2001,2002 Buick Park Avenues with 29K and 100K. Mostly Highway miles, 3800 V6 engines. We pile the miles on the one...

    An interesting GC observation

"GC, is like, the greatest oil ever! " Why yes, yes it is. It should be noted that all my above experiences are with older Green (M02 in this case) out of my stash. I don't have any gold, and won't need to buy any for several more years. If you consider that none of us are reps for the...

    An interesting GC observation

Like many, I've noticed and mentioned numerous positive GC qualities and effects in the past. Most notably, reduced valvetrain noise in 2 of my vehicles, smoother engine operation and reduced vibration in a 3rd, as well as better mileage. And I know that there has been a fair amount of positive...

    Gas milage with GC

I reported an initial 1 mpg drop in economy in my 3.3L Oldsmobile vs. Mobil 1. Now, after 2900 miles, the mileage has returned to normal, and the averages are the same as Mobil 1, around 29.5 mpg on average. I immediately noted less valvetrain noise, and considerably less engine noise with...

Engines runs quieter, Found a new stash, Life is good.

Relatively rough, by our sissy West Michigan standards. These came from the Autozone on Division Avenue, just south of Downtown G.R. If you were to hear my wife tell it, we took our lives into our hands..... I on the other hand was perfectly comfortable in the store. Just another auto parts...

Engines runs quieter, Found a new stash, Life is good.

After noticing a considerable improvement in engine noise after changing to GC from M1, I went back on the search. First store I went to in downtown Grand Rapids had 17 M04's still on the shelf. For those still in search of GC, here's a pattern I have found. The closer you get to the more...

    GC and engine quietness

I noticed the same thing. Much quieter than the M1 I was running in our daily drivers. I asked Pscholte in a PM if it was just my imagination...... but now I see that your elves quieter too!

    440 best oil?

Hello fellow Mopar fan! Many have had great success using Rotella T 15-40 in there old RB blocks. I have used it exclusively in my 63 Dodge, Motorhome, 68 Dodge truck, etc.. It's an HDEO, designed for diesels, and works great with these old cars. I know of many other mopar guys who have...

I'd do it! Maybe hold up a BITOG Banner or something as well! I could try to recruit a couple of honeys in bikinis to help me out. Let me know.
