2003 Honda Ridgeline 95k on truck- 7500 uoa

Just continue going by the OLM, regardless of mileage. I let it get down to 0% (it actually starts flashing the number of miles after 0%, just to keep nagging you), but anywhere 5-15% should be fine.

2003 Honda Ridgeline 95k on truck- 7500 uoa

Ridgelines, even '09 and up, have a timing belt. Code 4 on the Maintenance Minder includes "Replace timing belt and inspect water pump." Should come up between 100k and 105k miles. Unrelated, but many might not know: This '06 is the non-VCM J35A9 engine.

2009 Honda Accord VTEC V6 Oil & Filter Suggestion

For what it's worth, Mobil1 HM 5W-20 is an API SL spec oil. The SL category is "For 2004 and older automotive engines." (source: api.org) While your 2009 Accord originally required 5W-20, Honda has officially approved the use of 0W-20. I've got the Mazda OEM 0W-20 in my (non-VCM) J35Z5...

Fram Ultra PICS & Fram comparison - fits Honda

Greg, thank you for this thread. I'm sure it'll come in handy for lots of Honda drivers when this pops in a Google search.

Thoughts on Fram TG 7317 for Honda

I've got one on my Ridgeline. Haven't experienced any ticking, but then again with the near-constant "ticking" discussion here on BITOG, either I don't have a correctly calibrated ear, or I've been very fortunate with my engines. No abnormal noise on post-OCI startup, and the oil pressure light...

    '13 Honda 3.5L replacement filter--my head hurts.

More and more of this flow over filtration tripe. I've got a Fram Tough Guard 7317 on my J35 (non-VCM) engine now, and there's no tick, no startup noise. Internally, it's nearly identical to the A02, except it's 99% efficient @ 20 microns (exceeding an efficiency metric that I set for myself...

    Fog Lights and Battery/Alternator Longevity

While not strictly on topic re: battery/alternator longevity, I'm opposed to using fog lights in times where there is not dense fog. They're not daytime running lights. Fog lights are aimed differently and have different light spread. I'm surprised to see that people flash their high beams at...

safe to use 0-20 in car that calls for 5-20

yes, your 2006 Accord can use 0W-20. Any of the daily discussions of benefits of 0W-xx oils can answer the other questions. Short version, since you seem concerned about "wear": you won't see any difference in wear between a 0W-20 and 5W-20.

    Mobil1 5W-20, 7948 miles, 2010 Mazda5 2.3L

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going to push this OCI to 10k miles. Is the TAN recommended to confirm that the OCI mileage is ok (as in, crossover of TBN/TAN), or because it took me almost a year to get to my OCI mileage? I don't quite follow the "EP action/conversion." Also, the MoS2 is already...

    Bosch Premium vs. Purolator Pure

I searched earlier and didn't find a conclusive answer. A parallel question for Honda applications: The PL14610 has 99% efficiency at 40 microns (as opposed to 20 microns for most others). Is there any reason to believe that its brother, the Bosch Premium 3323, is any different?
