You may have an auto parts place that accepts used oil including SYN. We do in our state.

For a decent price on the K&N filter just do some internet searches. I buy mine 3 at a time to get free shipping and I pay $ 8.97 each with no sales tax.

Champion Labs also makes the K&N oil filter. I called them to ask about the shelf life of the K&N and was told 7 years so I guess I won't be trying these new ones for awhile. I was also told the ADBV is silicone.

OEM tacoma filters are not foam. I have a 97 Tacoma with the V6. My local dealer price on air filter is about $18 But I see some on-line sellers at $14.xx. These are good filters! The filter material looks like the end of a Q-tip.
