OK to use DuraBlend10W30 down to 0 degrees F?

I currently have DuraBlend 10W30 in my 2001 Tacoma (3.4L V6). Is this oil okay to use when it's 0 degree F? I thought I would have had more miles on this oil by now, and had planned on needing to drain it and replace it with a lower viscosity oil before the cold weather moved in. ETA...

    Auto-RX in an XR400

I have a 2001 XR400 that I recently bought used. I don't know how many miles are on it, as it doesn't have an odometer. If some other parts of this bike are any indication, it has received questionable maintenance from the previous owner(s). I'm wondering if it would be a good and worthwhile...

Here's another example of ridiculous dealership recommendations

Yea, you have to cut that piece of plastic when replacing the cabin/AC filters in the Odysseys. That's what all the techs do anyway.

Which syn ATF for my P/S flush, + more?

Whao, one quart in 10 seconds is pretty fast, I definately wasn't thinking it was going to be like that. Hmm, I guess I'll be ordering more than I planned on.

All around reccomd. for a Tacoma

For the manual trans you want a GL-4 oil. GL-5 oils usually make the Tacoma trannys which are already susceptable to notchiness more notchy than a GL-4. I know that Redline's MT-90 in an excellent and popular choice on the Yota forums. I've used it with great results, and right now I'm using...

Which syn ATF for my P/S flush, + more?

Thanks guys. I've decided on the Amsoil ATF. It's either the same price, or cheaper as the Mobil 1 ATF (though there is shipping, so idk...). I do off-road this truck on the weekends, which is the only reason I'm worrying about extra steps to protect the P/S system, considering it's also my DD...

Here's another example of ridiculous dealership recommendations

A valve adjustment is suppose to be done every 30k for Hondas, that's at least what Honda Motor Co. says. No Krex. For the most part, I think that is a good list (though, having a dealership do a lot of those little things you could do yourself is going to be a rip off) , and if you had that...

Which syn ATF for my P/S flush, + more?

I'm going to flush my power steering fluid, and I want to know if there is a better ATF for the price. I can get Amsoil Universal ATF for $6.60 a quart + s/h (preferred member price). For the cost/benefit ratio, and keeping the ATF synthetic, would anybody recommend something different? My...

Honda Filters - Just for discussion

I work at a Honda dealership. I started out at their quick lube facility, changing the oil on primarily Hondas. Everything was by dealership/Honda standards, and we used Honda filters. I've done probably 3000-3500 oil changes, and I've seen and used every oil and air filter Honda makes. Now I am...

    Maxlife synthetic and old engine

I thought about this when Maxlife Syn first came out, and I figured that they wouldn't advertise it as Maxlife if it would make a small leak bigger like happens in some cases with a regular synthetic. I doubt there's anything to worry about.

    oil brand/engine noise/placebo????

I noticed a slight difference when I change from Mobil 1 5w30 to Pennzoil 5w30 dino in my 3.4L Tacoma. Things just seemed a hair smoother/quiter, like the dino oil provided more padding/shock absorption for the engine or something. My brother also noticed it also. Who knows, maybe both of our...
