    2000 VW Jetta TDI - Delvac 1 - 7500 Miles

A little background….. I bought my 2000 Jetta TDI 5spd last Fall with 54k miles on the odometer. The first results were from the initial baseline sample which the owner estimated had between 3k and 5k miles. The baseline sample was before any modifications. Oil for Auto-Rx in VW TDI

I have an '00 VW Jetta TDI with 54k miles. I just bought the vehicle and the maintenance history is not complete. My plan is to run an Auto-Rx cleaning interval (1500-2000 miles) followed by a rinse interval (approx. 3000 miles) before I switch over to a quality synthetic oil (probably Delvac-1)...

    Mobil 1 75w-140 with SuperSyn

It might be old news but, I just noticed that Mobil 1 now has a 75w-140 synthetic gear lube. I saw it at my local Kragen auto parts. Sitting right next to the 75w-90 I have used in the past was the "Light Truck and SUV" labeled product. It also contains SuperSyn like their motor oils. I found a...

    SuperPlug Results at 10k

Here is a picture of my SuperPlug after a 10k interval on Mobil 1. As you can see in the picture, the magnet did catch a small amount of material. When I cleaned it off it off, what came off looked like a very fine grey paste. It looks like it is doing its job.

Contaminated oil - vs - contaminated sample

I just posted my results of an interesting and disturbing oil analysis in the Used Oil Analysis Section. My silicon number is quite high yet my wear numbers look really good. I have to consider that either myself or the oil analysis lab may have contaminated the sample. I sample with the Amsoil...

    Redline and reliable UOA data

I have been a long time Mobil 1 user but am considering a test run of Redline. As seen in other UOA's, my concern is that oil analysis data from my first run might be skewed due to Redlines potent cleaning abilities. I will have about 30k on my engine when I start the Redline interval. From 500...

I'm not one that easily gets excited about car products. Actually, I'm usually pretty sceptical about most things I read on the net.
