Supercharged 03 Cobra UOA - PP 5w30- Opinions?

I think this UOA looks pretty good. Blackstone is not worried about the oil viscosity. To me the wear metals seem in line for a car that is driven hard. I would say stick with the oil you are using...if you do try a heavier oil in the future I would definitely stay with a 5W oil. Oils with...

Yes...thank you! I'm planning on doing that in the next couple weeks. Taking the car in for a rattle, loose door handle and the cam follower. Do you think the higher Iron could be from the cam follower?

AMSoil Euro Formula 5w40, 2,698 miles, 2008 VW GTI

When I purchased this car the oil was about as black as I've ever seen oil. I know that is not a good indication of a oil's protective ability, but it was ugly looking oil to me and I couldn't wait to get it changed. When I saw my first UOA come back and the iron was at 144 I was a bit...

I can't find anything on the contents of Lucas Fuel Treatment...but I did find this... "Lucas Fuel Treatment safely replaces the need for lead in older engines." This comment is listed on this page... http://lucasoil.hodgsoncorp.com/lucas_fuel_treatment.htm Since Lucas oil is claiming this...

Thank you everyone for your ideas and input. I will do another follow up UOA on my next OCI later this summer. I'm running AMSoil 0w30 Signature Series (arguably the best oil AMSoil produces and IMO one of the best oils on the market). I'm NOT going to add anything to the gas tank....ie...NO...

Awesome information guys. Thank you!!! Do you have any thoughts about the tin. The tin jumped along with the lead. Is there tin in the Lucas fuel treatment also?...or is the tin something I should be concerned about. Thanks again!!!

German Castrol 5,502 Miles 2009 Ford Expedition

Hey Guys, My most recent oil change showed a higher amount of lead and tin vs my previous oil analysis. This OCI DID include some very tough towing...75 MPG into a 25 MPH wind for about 700 miles. The engine was working VERY hard during this tow. The truck was loaded down to near max payload...

Amsoil 5w30 European Formula any good?

I run the 5w40 version of the Amsoil Euro in my 2 oil shredding direction injected VW engines. First is a 2.0 FSI and it's notoriously hard on oils. The other is a 3.0 TFSI and I've been running 6,500-7,000 mile OCI on this engine with very very low wear numbers...viscosity has held in check and...

2011 VW GTI or Golf TDI for Daily Driver

To the OP....I own a 2008 GTI with the DSG and I love it. I'm at 30,000 miles and no problems. I keep meticulous records for MPG ( I have not missed a fill up ) and we are averaging 25.15 mpg in very spirited driving. If I'm driving for mpg's I can get 30 mpg pretty easily without hyper-miling...
