Does anyone know if this stuff really works, is it just another snake oil additive that claims to clean carbon from your engine and soak into the metal parts to micro lube parts but is just baby oil ?

A guy that works at zippy lube told me they are the same oil, i disagreed and he said call his headquarters and ask them, i did and they said the same thing, shell oil is Pennzoil just labeled different, and that most oils come out of the same pipe to different trucks delivered to bottling...

Is Shell oil and Pennzoil the same oil with different labels? or just owned by same company.

I was looking for alot more additives than 771 zinc and 636 phos.and 92 moly? Does redline even make a additive level upwards of 1200 ppm of additives. this is no better than off the shelf gov regulated oils.

It's not a modern engine,it's a high performance small block with flat tappet cam. Aren't all HDEO on the shelf the same amount of zinc and additves as standard sm oil? Or are some oils higher. thanks for the help, sorry about still asking questions. what do you recommend rslifkin ?

So according to the link a whole bottle mixed with a sm oil only brings the zinc to 1200 ppm , is there a better off the shelf oil than sm to make it closer to 1800, or atleast higher than 1200

Is there a better choice of off the shelf oil with higher additives to add the slob too to get in the 1800 range?

with the low levels mandated by the feds in oil I need a oil with alot higher additive formula and since i have read so much about slob I would like to use it to boost a off the shelf oil if possible.

According to the August 2011 carcraft issue it tested a few oil additives from Polaris labs. They have these results... Lucas break-in oil sae 30 = Z 6,420 phos 5,968 mag 6 calcium 1,598 moly 35 Royal purple break-in 30 = Z 1,053 phos 1,040 mag 551 calcium 2,617 moly 1 Edelbrock break-in oil...
