Bleeding brakes - just another reason to do it

I have almost 160k on my car and i don't think the brakes have even been flushed. At least not while i have owned then car since about 45k miles. I geuss i have always thought if it ain't broke don't fix it. After seeing that though i better bleed them out soon and get some new fluid in there.

    Pennzoil, good or not?

Pennzoil is good oil. Especially at the $0.69 a quart you paid for it. That will last you a long time.

New Lucas synthetic oil at Pep Boys

That is Earl Pearson Jr. I wouldn't call him slow. Those late models travel to alot of different tracks. It is very easy to miss on the setup once in a while or just plain out have a bad day. I work on a late model pit crew and know how easy it is. You can't win every race. Bloomer is just fast...

New Lucas synthetic oil at Pep Boys

Where do you buy it by the gallon? I have been looking for a bigger bottle of the stuff because i use it as well. That sure would beat buying the little bottle for $3 each.

Where to find GC in the DFW Area

Autozone is your best bet probably. Last time i was there they had a bunch of it. I think anyway. I'm not sure exactly what the stuff is but it was Syntec and said made in Germany.

This is rex, the lizard which lives in my bathrub drain.

That's funny. I don't know anything about them or how big they grow but i would think eventually he will get to big to go down the drain. I have had an Iguana since she was a baby about the size of a finger. She grew really fast within a week there was no way she could have fit down the drain...

    Two new friends

Friend #1 is awesome! I have had a pet iguana for about 4 years now. Not so fond of #2 though. Spiders are ranked near the top of never wanna see list. Especially HUGE ones like that.

What's the deal with Goodyear tires?

I use Goodyear triple treads on my car and love them! They are the best tire i have ever had. They are quiet and wear great as well. The rain traction is outstanding. We had a heavy downpour a few weeks ago. Most cars where going about 40 in a 65mph highway. I could go 65-70 with no problems. I...

    Local Racing Events

Here is a link i use when traveling and have time to watch some racing at new tracks. My list of racetracks attended is at about 125 different tracks. http://chasinracin.com/track-locator/ You can search a few different ways. I always search by type because i am a huge dirt oval track racing...

How do I disable ford fuel cutoff

I drove a early 90's Mustang in a demolition derby. I'm not sure if it had a fuel shutoff switch or not but i assumed it did. We couldn't figure out a way to disable it because we didn't think of it until 30 minutes before the race. Anyway i went out and got several very hard hits and it never...

how much would this beater sell for?

I would buy it for a few hundred. They have dirt track racing at a local racetrack here. They have an upcoming $15,000 to win race for 4 cylinder cars only. I would slap a rollcage in it remove the glass and go try to win the 15 grand. http://www.cedarlakespeedway.com/enduro.asp?pId=21 Not a...

Tried B12 chemtool, now should I try Seafoam?

I used Seafoam with pretty good results. Of course nothing spectacular but it did idle better after and seems to have been throttle response. I sucked it in through a vacuum line on my intake. Then let sit overnight. I started it in the morning and it blew white smoke for a while which is what...

    Havoline 10w-30 in a 94 Plymouth Acclaim 3.0 liter

I just got my 2nd oil report back today. My first report dated 4/17/06 had high copper and lead as you can see. That was from using a can of engine restore. Anyone see anything not normal in the most recent 8/22/06 report? The reason i changed after only 2.4k miles was because i switched over to...

Shelf life of a UO sample

Blackstone labs FAQ has a question about this. Here it is... I took a sample three months ago and forgot to send it in. It's been on a shelf in my garage ever since. Can I still send it in? Will the results still be good? Should be fine.

    Well i did it...

Well guys i hate to bump this up but i wanted to update. The car has now stopped leaking completely. Not even one drop anymore. I checked the oil level to make sure i wasn't just low and it is full. So altogether it leaked out about half of a quart before it somehow fixed itself. It's kinda...

What kind of car would you use to teach stick?

I learned on a Ford Ranger. Had troubles at first but after about 15 minutes of driving around i got it down perfect. Overall i would say they are pretty easy to learn on. I tried teaching my cousin to drive a standard but finally gave up. She now drives an automatic.

    Well i did it...

Thanks again everyone for the advice. It seems like the leak might be slowing down already like Pablo mentioned. There isn't as much on the floor this morning. So i have almost an extra gallon of the Amsoil i am going to just keep topping up the oil and see if it stops. If it doesn't i will try...

    Well i did it...

Those 2 cases of oil in the other thread have nothing to do with this. I bought those a while ago and just sold them a couple weekends ago. The guy i sold them too had nothing but good things to say about Amsoil. Then i decided i wanted to switch after all and ordered 2 gallons of this 5w-30...

    Well i did it...

The spot on the floor was pretty big for just a leak. I would geuss about 1/8th of a quart. Pablo here is a link to the oil i used. Not sure what kind of 5w-30 it is. https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/asl.aspx I am going to go out and take a look at it now to try to find where it is leaking...

    NEAR-DEATH EXPERIENCES

Whenever i do anything under the car i use jackstands. As well as the parking brake and even blocks behind the wheels. Before i get under it i shake the **** out of it just to make sure. Where i live two people have died within the last few months by cars falling on them.
