Well, yeah, it’s only common sense
I run the best oil I can get my hands on in my truck
I never go past 5K on oil changes
Personally, I establish a baseline with oil analysis to ensure that I’m OK at 5K with fuel dilution
Yeah, I suppose that’s possible as well but, how many actually people here involved in this discussion or using the cheapest oil oil available and changing at 1K?
Let me rephrase that for you specifically…..
“even expensive oil is cheap, engines aren’t”
Engine oil is a compromise for sure.
The definition of BEST is extremely speculative as well.
One of the things I like about LSJ, he gives you the data, but puts it on YOU to form the conclusion.
I bought a 24 Sport hybrid for the Mrs
It had 33k
I plan to use Valvoline Restore and Protect with a Microgard Select.
I am planning a 3k oil change and will have the fuel dilution checked.
if the dilution numbers are ok, I’ll move to a 5k OCI
2024 CRV Sport Hybrid, 35.9k, recent purchase
Drained unknown oil at unknown mileage
4.2 quarts Valvoline Valvoline Restore and Protect
Microgard Select filter
Plan on a 3k oil change to pull the 1st sample to check fuel dilution
Modern vehicles with computers will fry in an EMP
The only way to protect them is an actual Faraday cage around the vehicle.
Nuclear hardening or shielding is the only possible escape from an EMP.
