    Cant hand tighten filter

Vehicle in question is a Land Cruiser Prado which is the rougher/slightly cheaper version of the Lexus GX you get in USA. Comes with an ancient diesel engine designed in the 90s and updated slightly for around 15 years until they released a new engine 5 years ago. Some markets still get the old...

    Cant hand tighten filter

Good news, managed to tighten the oil filter to about 3/4 turn with the rubber strap wrench, ran it for a couple minutes and no more seepage.

    Cant hand tighten filter

Yes, it is accessed from the engine bay. So much for japanese engineering, they place the oil filter facing upwards, on one side of the engine with a bunch of tubing around and halfway to the bottom of the engine.

    Cant hand tighten filter

Reason i cant hand tighten is due to the filter location, by the time i reach the oil filter can, im standing on a small ladder, back bent over, arm fully extended and i can barely grab the filter with like half the length of my fingers, i managed to get it 1/2 turn but nothing more and after...

    Got caught my first time!

Id say any brand name oil and an adequate OCI is enough. Engines rarely go wrong these days unless there is a known issue in specific models. You should probably keep an eye on the other things such as cooling system, transmission, belts/chains and turbo if applicable. Since you tow id...

    Printer recommendation

My vote goes to HP but i have always used the officejet line and i use it daily which probably helps reliability.

Brand new car, engine running rich?

I made a big mistake. I was referring to NEGATIVE 10% LTFT average not positive. Regarding my mileage, its around 30mpg full city driving, zero highway. The reason why i started monitoring the engine is because after i leave the car off for a couple hours (Lets say, 6 hours or more) sometimes...

Brand new car, engine running rich?

We dont get Ethanol gas here where i live. Its a CVT, i feel the fuel mileage is good enough considering i do 100% city driving. However i do put in the bare minimum octane rating required for the engine. Now you have me wondering if that could be the cause.

Brand new car, engine running rich?

Brand new Chevy Spark with almost 3k miles. Non turbo, non DI. Car STFT is fine and is always close to 0%. However LTFT is ALWAYS 7-8% or more no matter if idling or cruising. Avg LTFT based in my observations is around 10%. What could be causing this?

    CVT fluids

Nissan NS3 fluid has a viscosity of 6.2cst, NS2 is 7.2cst. The only fluids with a 6.2cst that i know of are Idemitsu N3 and Eneos ECO CVT. Castrol and other major brands are around 7.3cst. Except Valvoline which is 5.6cst.

    OCI for Spark 1.4 M1 EP/UPF64R

Ive been running the XG12060 on my Spark for a couple weeks already, so far so good. TBH, i dont think there will ever be an issue and i definitely feel like the XG is of way higher quality than the OE one.

Anyone does 7K-8K OCIs on conventional?

That is for the giggles. Got rid of the E39 years ago. The other ones are still in use in the family but they are pretty beaten up. Just as an update, did a "break in" (As i usually do with all cars) oil change yesterday and the oil looked pretty much new. Filled with 10W-30 as previously stated...

Anyone does 7K-8K OCIs on conventional?

Car is a Chevy Spark. They only come with GMs latest small gas engines, which is a 1.4L NA, non DI, non turbocharged engine. Synthethic is cheap in the states, here the cheapest "Full synthethic" (Per the bottle label) is at least $13 US or more + tax for the cheaper brands but i can get Chevron...

Anyone does 7K-8K OCIs on conventional?

Has anyone run conventional oil for 7K-8K OCIs regularly? Planning to run Chevron Supreme in a GM Ecotec NA 1.4L, non DI, non turbocharged engine for 7K-8K OCIs. (The engine is also used in the Equinox, Malibu and Cruze but in a more advanced setup, DI and turborcharged) Not sure how demanding...

Color printing: what's more cost effective?

If you want the absolute lowest cost per print, refillable printers from any brand will work. In my experience, the most reliable have been HP printers. I have used both their OfficeJet series (Cartridge) and currently use their Smart Tank printers. Zero problems so far, more than 20k prints in...

    Nissan CVT7 JF015E

Chevrolet Spark brand new with an Ecotec LV7 1.4L (Naturally aspirated and not direct injected) mated to a Jatco CVT. (Presumably the CVT7 JE015E according to my research on google) A few years ago when this gen Spark was initially released, i compared it to the competition and decided to go...

    Nissan CVT7 JF015E

Maybe i went a bit overboard with shut down but the RPMs fluctuate a lot for the first couple seconds in Drive, as if there was some serious misfiring issues. I simply cant believe a brand new car is behaving this way, makes me feel uneasy as if its going to suddenly die one day without notice...
