What smoker to get charcoal or electric?

I also have a Weber Smokey Mountain. It's the cheapest smoker I would consider. It have a nice forum of enthusiasts and can cook plenty of food. I've had mine about two years and it always produces good tasting Q.

    Hurricane Ike

After six days, eleven hours and five minutes, power has been restored here. I was able to procure a decent little generator at Lowes two days ago. It will be cleaned, waxed and filled with gas and stabilizer before I find it a secure place in the garage. After almost three years of living...

can you apply wax with a buffer?

I don't see the purpose of applying a paste wax with a buffer. You have to pull it out of the container, spread it on the buffer pad and then apply it to the car. It's a waste of wax. You won't get better results either. Use a foam applicator and apply the stuff in a thin coat by hand. It's an...

    Hurricane Ike

The wife and I left Houston on Labor Day Weekend when there was still a chance of Gustav hitting here. We spent the week at Wrightsville Beach, NC. Our trip was cut short by a day or so as Hanna was targeting us there. Now as we are back home in Houston, the current forecast cone has Houston in...

MAJOR Score on RTS 5-40 at Sam's Club!!

The only car I own that would possibly use the stuff is my MazdaSpeed 6. It suffers from fuel dilution and normally calls for 5W-30. But, one case of three gallons would be a year's supply if it actually worked well in my car. It is a great price though on a great oil.

Post your top three most favorite mainstream beers

If I have to go for a non-microbrew, I reach for Sam Adams. If I'm saving money, I go for Blue.

    BBQ Sauce

I make my own sauce. The majority of the store-bought ones are so full of [censored] like high fructose corn syrup and preservatives. At least I know what is going in the stuff I make.

Where were you 5 years ago?

We were sent home form work when we found out the extent of the outage. I rode my bike into work that morning (about 19 miles) and a co-worker was giving me a ride home. After a long ride home without traffic lights, I told her I'd ride home from her place since it was only about five miles or...

    Hyundai Sonata ???

I've heard the same thing about Hyundai's warranty coverage. I didn't ask that question when I looked at the Veracruz. I did have a Sonata rental last fall. It didn't like it at all. It was a base model and felt cheap, had an annoying key chime and the sunglasses holder pocket kept opening.

OffShore Drilling = Oil Independence in 6 yrs?

They aren't drilling on the leases they currently hold. [censored], all the quipemnt needed to drill already has a full scedule. If they won't do anything with what they currently have, what makes people think they'll do anything by giving them more leases?

Money spent on electricity stays here

Many environmentalists see nuclear power ans clean and green. They are just easy targets. It's the people that "don't want a plant in my back yard" that cause the grief.

    Driveway sealers

I did it myself when I lived in NY. I would suggest having it hired out. I used some high quality stuff (name escapes me) and it looked good when I was done. However, it was a lot of work for one person and it's messy.

    3 oil price issues.

They aren't drilling in the leases they currently have. Why give them more leases? They have spots to drill, they are just using this opportunity to grab more.

    attic radiant barriers

Our house was built in 2005, so it has radiant barrier for roofing. It really does help keep the heat out. I can be in my attic in the summer and it really isn't much hotter than it is outside.

Why such a short interval? Was it just because of the short trips?

    i mixed 7 oils together

Several years ago, I mixed up some Amsoil 5W-30, 10W-30 and 0W-30 for an oil change in my Grand Prix. I never did an analysis, but I figured since it was all one brand, I would be OK.

    Saturn Outlook

We looked at the Outlook and its brother the GMC Acadia. They are nice vehicles, but we weren't big fans of the interior. We ended up with an '08 Mazda CX-9. The color selections on the Saturn are pretty nice as well.

How do You do your Fluid Changes?

I use a MityVac when bleeding/flushing brake fluid. I use a drain pan for transmission fluid changes. I don't do coolant changes myself. I take it and have it flushed by machine when the time comes. That way all the fluid is recycled and I don't have to mess with that volume of fluid.
