Going through this same thought process as well. Can’t decide on what filter I want to use for 10k OCI OEM Toyota or Fram ultra synthetic.

Thanks for this info. I am still on the fence about 10K OCI's. I know they are fine to do, but I don't mind changing the oil/filter. Edit: Just did the math on about how many miles per year i would do, and its very low. Under 10k easily. Now I like the 10K OCI's even more now.

I gotcha, it will be going in my 22 Tacoma so this oil is overkill for this truck. Been wanting to switch to 10k OCI, now just gotta decide what filter to pair it with.

When talking 5w30 is there any reason to use the PCMO over the Euro?

I have been looking to go to a 10K OCI HPL No VII oils when they are in stock again. Plan on switching from Valvoline EP 5w30 w/ oem Toyota filter to the HPL No VII PCMO 5w30 with a Fram UG filter. I really don't mind doing 5k OCI with my current oil/filter combo, but I would like to support...

Will there be premium or premium plus versions of this new oil? Sorry if this has been discussed previously.

Valvoline EP is the only thing that I run in my Tacoma.

Vavoline 5w30 with an OEM Filter. I'd do 5k OCI, but I don't mind changing the oil on my Tacoma. As long as you don't live where cold weather is an issue 5w30 should be fine.

Would yall say that OEM Toyota filters are good from 10K mile OCI?

I am almost positive that HPL is not the same at High Performance Lubricants. I could be wrong, but I was only aware that you could get High Performance Lubricants oil at https://www.advlubrication.com.

I can understand the unneeded part, but who/where has it been not recommended? I think its a worthwhile upgrade if you plan on doing your own oil changes. The metal one has a forsure "stop" when you get to the end of the threads. Less risk of overtightening, cross threading, and cracking the...

Valvoline if you aren’t doing extended drain intervals. M1 if you are doing extended drain intervals. The best oil is fresh oil.

Couldn’t agree more.

So if you’re not doing over longer drain intervals (5k miles and up) a premium oil (Valvoline, M1) wouldn’t be worth it?
