    Blizzak WS90

Had to put my NB Miata into service(usually store it for winter) several winters ago because my daughter had a sudden need for her own car. I put a set of WS90's on a cheap set of rims and daily drove it through a Michigan winter with no issues. I thought they were great winter tires.

    Advice-winter or all weather?

I have Michelin CrossClimate 2's on the RX-350. They are noticeably better in the snow than the previous Michelin All-season tires. I highly recommend them.

How to prevent EZ Pass transponder from being read?

I've read three articles where a pocket knife saved someone's life. Car on fire in a crash, seatbelt jammed, pocket knife saves the day. Vicious dog attacking child, can't pull big dog off kid, pocket knife convinces dog to run off, last one's highly unlikely, rowboat gets sucked into dam, being...

How to prevent EZ Pass transponder from being read?

My EZ pass transponder expired. Both the online instructions for return and the paperwork said to simply wrap the old transponder in aluminum foil when returning to avoid any charges on unit. The new one was shipped to me wrapped in plain old aluminum foil as well. No, unwanted charges on either...

Anybody using CBD as a sleep aid.

A "friend" had trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. Getting up a minimum of 3 times per night and sometimes not being able to fall back asleep. A low dose of a combination CBD and THC gummy an hour before bed does wonders. Fall asleep faster. Typically only get up once per night and fall...

Question about making a batch file

Just thought I'd mention that most, if not all, dos/command line "commands" will return a description/list of options for that command if you follow it with a space /? Just open a command prompt box and enter as below. for example: echo /? ping /? copy /?

How to determine when to replace battery that has always been charged / maintained?

I don't know if it's very easy to detect when a battery is near it's end of life. There's been a few discussions here lately where batteries seemed to be fine one day and the next day it died with no "slow crank" or any other indication it was about to fail. Personally, I replace the battery...

JBWeld Cold Weld Epoxy - Poor Results

I'm curious. Did you spread the epoxy over the top of the bracket after pressing the bracket into place, or did you just rely on the expansion of the extrusion. The video that doitmyself posted at 4:40 instructs to smooth the epoxy over the bracket. Seems like that might be critical to the success.

Anti-seize on brake pad ear slider hardware?

I've used sil-glyde on the sliders/pins, but, not the pad ears. Seemed to work well on the pins, but, I sold the car before having to disassemble again to see the long term performance. I've also seen sil-glyde recommended for this application many times.

    Extended warraty

I find that car warranty stories are a lot like gamblers' stories. They love to tell you about how they won $500 at the casino, but, you never hear about the all times they lost $200 or $300 dollars. Same with extended car warranties, you'll hear about how people saved a ton of money getting a...

    Ugly brown Michelin tires 🤬

I second the 303 Aerospace Protectant. It does a great job of keeping my Michelin Cross Climate2's nice and black. It's not shiny at all. Doesn't leave the tires sticky and doesn't seems to attract grit.
