code reader-can be a real help?

I've used a code reader before, and it did pull the error code. However, for my car I just jump the service connector with a paperclip and read the flashes.

I don't know what oil the previous owner used. To be honest,I use whatever oil that is on sale at Kragen. In the past I've used Penzoil, Quaker State, Castrol GTX, etc.

Just finished 2nd Auto-Rx treatment (Pic included)

I just finished my second treatment of Auto-Rx and pulled the valve cover off. When I pulled the cover off, I was amazed by how clean everything looked. Here is a link to the pic: After ARX The car is a 1994 Acura Integra LS, with a 1.8L DOHC engine. The car has 147,000 miles on it, and I...

    Buffing with a Handheld Drill

If you are a begginer to buffing then I would advise against using the drill. If not used properly, there is a chance that you can do a lot of harm to the paint. I recently started using a PC 7424 random orbital buffer on my car and am pleased with the results. Once I get profficient with the...

    water spots?? or what???

A method I've used to remove waterspots is to use a vinegar/water mix. I start at a low concentration of vinegar, and increase it if the spots aren't coming out. However, after using this mix, you're going to have to reapply your wax or sealant.

How well would this work for cleaning an engine?

To clean my engine I spray a 4:1 dilution of Meguiars APC+. I let it set for a second then I scrub the problem areas with a brush. Then I just rinse of the engine bay with a regular hose. I also make sure that I cover all the electrical components.

    Auto-Rx Froze during transmission application

I've had Auto-Rx get clumpy on me before, but I didn't have to deal with 30 deg temps. If I were you, I'd only use Honda ATF because of the Z1 additive. Dex III is suitable, but Honda/Acura's finicky auto trannies perform much better with the Honda ATF.

    rim polishing DIY

Nice work on the wheels. A little trick I do to make cleaning the wheels easier is that I put a sealant (Klasse, etc) on my rims every time I rotate the tires. I also, put 303 on my rims after every wash. Using this method, I've noticed that the brake dust is easy to clean and I only need some...

    Super Tech

I had my oil changed at Walmart once, and after the visit I vowed never to have them change it. In fact it was the first time I had every taken the car to a shop to have the oil changed. I made sure to watch them during the entire process and I'm glad I did. For one thing, the tech forget to...

    Rubber protectant?

For all my rubber parts, I use 303 Aerospace protectant. It's a great product, that's waterbased and has UV protectants. You can find 303 at most Marine stores or online.

    Tire Detailing Poll?

I've been using 303 protectant on my tires for a couple of years now. It gives a good matte finish and has UV protectants in it. It also doesn't contain petroleum distillates like other products.

    Mother's Black on Black

I've used B2B in the past and have been fairly satisfied. The only problem I've had is that it tends to run a little in the rain. Alternatively, I've also used 303 on the trim before and was pretty satisfied. However, it tends to run too, if not properly buffed out. The key in the whole process...

Silly Question but how do ya'll add Fuel System Cleaner

I found the best way for me to add 131 to my fuel was to put it in a Stabil bottle. Since it has a secondary 1/2 oz spout, it makes it easier to get the right amount into the tank.
