So I've going to try adding 2oz of Redline FSC to my car at every fillup. Do you all take out the trouble to get a funnel and then pour it in ?

I've got a new X5 4.4 and this one is a keeper, so a little preventive maintence is better than nothing. I tried adding 2oz straight from the bottle and it just made a bloddy mess. I filled the tank up to around 18 gallons and then attempted to proceed to add Redline S1. I attempted to just dump a little and then add some gas, dump a little, add some gas so that the tank cover would open up each time I put the nozzle in........a little bit got overflowed and I had the best of time wiping it off (I just detailed the car).

I don't see it making such a mess if dumping the whole bottle as it just goes straight in. What about those that are doing 2 OZ intervals.....

I just dump the whole bottle on the day after fillup when I put my cars to sleep at night

Isn't one whole bottle every say 3-5k mi. all that's necessary?? Why putz with small amounts? What do the directions on the Redline FSC say?

Why don't you premix it with a gallon of gas (and a little stabilizer), so you could add a more controlled amount, like 12 ounces?

That or you can get an old Sta-bil bottle that has the measuring capability and "anteater nose" to push the flap open in your filler neck.

Depends on my car. On one car I can add afew ounces just before fillup from the redline bottle directly to the tank. On the others I have one tiny funnel with a long "stem" that I use to push open the filler opening and add some Redline. I think the difficulty, or lack there of, lies in the compatability of the bottle and your car's fuel filler door.

I have been adding while at the station just before filling the tank. I was thinking it might be better to mix it with the agitation of filling the tank.

Am I being over concerned about it mixing?

I would hate to see it all go to the bottom of the tank then get sucked in as one slug.

Sure be easier to add before I go to the station.

I use a small funnel with a long tube. Not much of a hassle, goes smoothly. Others just prop the fuel flap open with a long screwdriver while pouring.

Heh... That's exactly what I do at the gas station when adding the cleaner. Mostly use a long screwdriver to hold the flap open, if not use a funnel with a tube.

I used to use a measuring cup and a funnel that has a cap for each end when stored. The markings on the measureing cup wore off.

Now that I picked up some FP I use the 16 oz sqeeze bottle, and try to get 1 oz per squeeze.

I'm accurate with my truck, but for the rest of the family vehicles I check for a full tank when I get a chance and if so I give it a 2 oz shot.

I also have a couple of old neutra bottles. Some I fill to 8oz, some 10 oz, and 12 oz.

I used a long funnel before I got the squeeze bottle with FP. Now I use long screwdriver and squirt method. Much easier. Keep driver and bottle in small box in trunk. Graduated ozs on squeeze bottle-very handy.

As an oil and fuel additive salesman, when I am doing my demonstrations on our products, I will always just pour the whole bottle in with our products it is not necessary to mix in any way, just pour in and let it do its job.... Just my two cents, by the way a very informative forum board glad to be a part of it.....

I'm sure that when you start driving the sloshing around your fuel does in the tank mixes all the additives fine. If you drive like an old lady, hit the brakes a few times as you pull away from the pumps and that should take care of everything.

I found the best way for me to add 131 to my fuel was to put it in a Stabil bottle. Since it has a secondary 1/2 oz spout, it makes it easier to get the right amount into the tank.

Exactly. With the flap open I'm getting pretty good at getting it all down the filler neck. And you get pretty good at guessing how much is just right for one shot.

I use a old Nulon bottle which has a long spout. I just put in the required amount prior to going to the gas station and then put it in before the fuel. It will push open the flap and empty the contents without any spill.
