    Home alarm system question

Hey guys, wanted to get your opinions on what I should do with my home alarm. I got new windows put in the entire house, which will of course require that remote triggers be fastened to them in order for the alarm system to monitor them. This made me wonder if that would be worth it. Do any of...

Subway calls ‘emergency’ meeting with franchisees as sales plummet

A few Subways that I've been in most recently don't seem to observe Subway's standards on how long food should sit out. I think this can be traced back to employees who just don't give a ****, which is also reflected in their general attitudes. I can do better at Jimmy John's, or even Blimpies.

    Elantra N ... new purchase

Not quite clear on why Hyundai hasn't blessed Kia with this package, unless they don't think there will be enough takers to split it between both brands. I think that engine would be a sweet addition to the Forte GT for folks who prefer Kia's design slant. Congrats on the purchase. I bet that...

    Good Store-Bought Cleaner / Polish ?

I stopped doing this stuff by hand in 2006 and I've never looked back. Porter-Cable dual action used with a Lake country orange pad and Meguiars Ultimate Compound (It's not very aggressive for a compound, which allows me to skip the polish ) followed up with Collinite 845, maintained with...

Man accidentally shot and killed in gun shop

This is the reason my gun shop will only hand me a 9mm with the slide locked in the racking position. RIP. Needless death.

    Recent Experience At Discount Tire

That's really a lousy excuse for not using plastic covered sockets. They have to buy impact sockets anyway, so why not buy ones that won't ruin wheels?

    Spastic Gas Prices

I look at the price when I push the button. Sometimes it gets a raised eyebrow, sometimes I'm unaffected. I recall variations between 2.69 and 3.79 in the past months. I've stopped being concerned what's causing it because it's a waste of energy worrying about things I can't change. The Exxon...

    Reman cylinder heads

It's got multiple issues and considering how much time this car has already spent in the shop in 2024, I would prefer to get this overwith quickly. Turns out there's only about $100 difference between getting it machined and just buying one that's already ready to go, with a 1-2 year warranty.

What troublesome invasive weed do you have in your area?

I've received a lot of recommendations to put down pre-emergent in November and again in February to prevent springtime germination, in April.

What troublesome invasive weed do you have in your area?

I pulled five yard bags full of this stuff out of my yard this spring because I didn't put down pre-emergent. Won't make that mistake again.

    25 year old lawn mowers

My 2004 Troy Bilt has the 6.25hp with that same kill switch. I like to degrease and then wash the mower occasionally and when that thing gets even a little wet, you can forget starting it. 😡 But the engine has been completely trouble-free except oil consumption pretty much from the beginning...

Check your filters before you leave the store with them.

I actually had a Fram synthetic on hand as well, so I just used that. The guys who have been doing work on this car put a Master Pro filter on it whenever they last changed the oil, so I didn't even attempt to use the gasket from that.

Check your filters before you leave the store with them.

Hey guys, normally I check filters before I leave Walmart, but in this case I guess I just verified that it was the right filter (and not already used) and went home with it. Unfortunately this was several months ago and I no longer have the receipt, but take a look at what I found when I went...
